NWA Stable Wars Show 1: The Era Of Stable Wars Begins
Our show opens at the NWA Stable Wars Zone, with pyro and music aplenty. It's a lot of setup and let us see if it lives up to the hype. We go to the announce desk, which is manned by Magnus James and the Reverend D'Von.
MJ: 'Wrestling fans, welcome to the debut episode of Stable Wars. Kevin Nash was supposed to join me, but he had, and I quote, 'lucha things to do.' So, instead, I am joined by the Reverend D'Von.
RD: 'Testify!'
MJ: 'Indeed. Speaking of Kevin Nash, let's head to the back, where I understand he is ready to reveal the fourth man.'
In the back, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall and Rey Mysterio are gathered.
RM: 'So you brought me into this group with the promise it was going to be all about 'flippy lucha guys'. So far you've given me a clone of my own son, who himself is no luchador. Please tell me you've got someone who fits the description.
KN: 'Relax man, its like I said before. We have the two Walters for the tag division, you for the main event, and then we have a lucha guy from McDonalds, Mexico to round things out.'
SH: 'Yo Kev, I could go for a Big Mac.'
KN: 'We'll go after the show. Maybe we'll see Sonjay or one of those other vanilla dudes.'
RM: 'Focus, please.'
KN: 'Oh yeah, our guy. Well I did some scouting on that thing called the interwebs and saw some hot talent. Then I closed Pornhub and looked up some wrestling. And after some messages, I secured the services of the best lucha guy on the planet. And he's here tonight!'
RM: 'Awesome. Well, who is it? Rey Fenix? Bandido? Flamita? '
KN: 'Even better than that. I secured the services of none other than Pentagon Jr. Scott, send him in.'
The crowd pops huge, but as their man enters, their reaction falls. Because the man standing in front of them isn't Pentagon Jr. I'm not quite sure who he is actually.
RM: 'Who the hell's this?'
KN: 'That's Pentagon Jr, in the flesh.'
RM: 'That definitely isn't him.'
SH: 'Uh, Kev. About that. You didn't ask me to get that Pentagon guy. You said Octagon Jr.'
KN: 'Who? Oh well, one lucha guy is the same as any other. It's just a bunch of flippy guys in masks, what makes one different than another. You have your lucha guy and we can't back out now, he signed the contracts. Let's get him to the ring and winning his first match.'
Nash and Hall take their new apprentice with them, as Rey holds his head in his hands and tries not to scream.
Match 1
Octagon Jr (w/ Kevin Nash and Scott Hall) vs El Hijo De LA Park
Nash and Hall seem to be under the belief that Park is in fact LA Park, their former co-worker in WCW. Nash even gives him a little guitar solo with a steel chair, which Park seemed to take as a compliment.
Our match begins and the two lock up, before exchanging some arm drags and headscissors. LUCHA THINGS! Park gets the advantage and tosses Octagon out, looking for the suicide dive. Hall is up on the apron distracting the ref, and as Park dives, Nash holds the chair in his path and he hits it head first. Nash says 'oops, did I do that', pretending it was accidental, and helps him back into the ring. Octagon goes up top and hits the 450 Splash, which is enough to get the 3 count.
Winner - Octagon Jr
Rating - An unprotected chairshot/10
Nash and Hall celebrate their first victory, raising Octagon's hand, as we head back to the announce table.
MJ: 'Impressive victory there for Octagon Jr, but you have to wonder if the match would have gone quite the same way without Kevin Nash's involvement.'
RD: 'Sometimes, my brother, the lord intervenes in mysterious ways. To ensure that all remains as it should in the world. I have no doubts that, had Nash not raised his hand, fate would have still been in the hands of our winner.'
MJ: 'I'm surprised by the respect you've shown your only current rivals, but perhaps you're right. Up next are your sons in tag team action. Are you going to stage a divine intervention yourself?'
RD: 'No such actions will be required. Our lord spoke to me this very evening and he prophesied that Brothers Terrell and Terrence will come out victorious. No, the only intervention tonight will be to collect for the D'Von Building Fund.'
As if by magic, Angelico arrives and is demanding that Magnus pay something towards the Building Fund. Reluctantly, our announcer gets out his wallet.
MD: 'I knew I should have left this at home. Before we head to the ring, let's take a look at the next team coming to NWA Stable Wars.
We are out in the open this time, and at a place that I do faintly recognise. It's the Hardy Compound! That can only mean one thing: we have the imminent arrival of "Broken" Matt Hardy.
MH: 'Greetings readers in the NWAverse. It is I, the broken one at the House of Hardy. The name is appropriate, because the House of Hardy is coming to the War of Stables. But I do not come alone. Reba, King Maxel, Vanguard 1 and Senor Benjamin will join me on my crusade. And I have assembled an army, to delete the Seven Untrue Deities that will soon poiseen the world. The first entity to join the House of Hardy is my brother, the Enigmatic One, Brother Nero.
Brother Nero, or as he is also known, Jeff Hardy, enters the fray.
MH: 'Brother Nero, I knew you'd come!'
BN: 'Brother Matt, the world is filled with obsolete non-entities that must be deleted. I must join you on this crusade.'
MH: 'Wonderful. To the next vessels. I fought to obtain the services of Days of the New, but discovered that they were playing a concert of rocks.'
BN: 'Tell them what you did when you found out.'
MH: 'They had become obsolete, so I deleted them!'
BN: 'Wonderful! Though their careers have been obsolete for over 20 years.'
MH: 'Afterwards, I searched this eternal plane once more, and found a suitable deity. They are The Bucks Of Youth.'
The Young Bucks, as they are also known, entered. They will become the first talent to appear for NWA Stable wars and another promotion at the same time, being signed to the fledgling NWA Reign. They shake hands with the Hardys and seem to be trying their hardest not to corpse.
MH: 'And now our final vessel. We required someone with new potential, to explore this mortal coil when we depart to meet the Seven Deities. He is an entity that bears similarities to our own, as do The Bucks Of Youth. He is none other than Darby Alleeen!
Darby Allin enters, skateboard in hand and shakes hands with the group.
MH: With the combination of my broken brilliance, Brother Nero, The Bucks Of Youth and Darby Aleeen, we will delete all of these obsolete groups from existence, and bring about a new era. A broken era. Wonderful!'
Matt Hardy claps and encourages the others to do the same, as we return to the arena for our second match.
Match 2
The Real Good Brothers (Brother Terrence and Brother Terrell) vs Bear Country (Bear Boulder and Bear Bronson)
The brothers briefly consult the holy book and say a prayer, encouraging their opponents to join them. But its just a ruse, as they attack their distracted opponents and throw Bronson out of the ring. They attack Boulder two on one, throwing him off the rope, but he responds with a double Clothesline. Regrouping outside the ring, the brothers once again consult the holy book. Terrell is the legal man, entering and locking horns with Boulder, but cannot contain the big man and his power. Angelico arrives at ringside, offering a distraction, which allows the brothers to hit a Belly to Back Neckbreaker on Bronson, getting a near fall. Following a brief period of isolation, Bronson escapes and gets the tag to Boulder, who comes in like a house on fire. Terrence takes the Elevator Drop and that looks to be it, but Angelico has the referee distracted once again. That signals the arrival of Bourne Again, who has a bottle of holy water. He throws some in the eyes of Bronson, temporarily blinding him. The brothers hit the 3D on Boulder and get the 3 count.
Winners - The Real Good Brothers
Rating - Better than reading the bible/10
After the match, The Ministry take a few more bottle of holy water and douse their opponents in the substance, before performing a prayer. Are they trying to convert Bear Country to their side? I don't think that's going to do it. After the group celebrate their win, we return to the announce table.
MJ: 'Reverend, your men have come out on top, but I do question the tactics they employed to get the win.'
RD: 'Its as I said before my brother, the lord works in mysterious ways. In order to save the non believers, we sometimes have to employ extreme measures, if we are to achieve our goals. We have cleaned the souls of Bear Country, and if they stay on the straight and narrow they too could be saved.'
MJ: 'I'll take your word for it. Now I understand, before our main event, that Walter has something he wants to say. Let's go to the back.'
We head backstage, where we see Walter looking at a globe.
W: 'Let me tell you about geography. We are of course in the state of Michigan, here in the United States. I am from Austria, but spent many of my years wrestling in Germany. Around the world there are many great wrestling nations: Mexico, Japan, Samoa, The United Kingdom. Yet none has produced a worthy challenger. If you write me off as a tag wrestler or a Dominik Mysterio clone, you will be crushed like bug. I am issuing a challenge to anyone on this planet to best me. Name your time, name your place, and I will break you.'
We return to the announce table once again.
MJ: 'Strong words from Walter there. Are you going to send any of your men to answer the challenge Reverend?'
RD: 'Oh my brother, my good men will not be swayed by such mean spirited words. We have important holy business to take care of, helping those poor unfortunates who wish to be saved. Walter is not on our radar.'
MJ: 'Sounds like a fancy way to say your chicken to me.'
RD: 'Interpret my words however you wish, but I answer only to one man. That man upstairs has seen far more than this non-believer ever shall.'
MD: 'Let's go to the ring now for our main event.'
Match 3
Rey Mysterio (w/Dominik) vs Juventud Guerrera
The bell rings and these two old rivals shake hands. They may both be a lot older than they were when their rivalry lit up the wrestling world, but that doesn't make the match any less intriguing. They exchange some holds, before Rey hits a couple of arm drags and a headscissors takedown, sending Juvi outside. Rey takes to the top and hits a springboard splash to the floor. Throwing Guerrera back in, he goes for a Springboard nothing, but Guerrera stops him with a Dropkick. The cover gets a 2 count. Guerrera gets a slam and follows it with a running leg drop for another 2 count, before going for a chin lock. Rey gets the crowd behind him and escapes with a jawbreaker. Running the ropes, he looks for a slingshot arm drag, but Guerrera counters it to a release German Suplex for another near fall. Guerrera picks up Mysterio and drops him with the Juvi Driver, but doesn't go for the cover. Instead, he signals that he's going up top for the 450. He goes for it, but Mysterio moves and he gets nothing but canvas. Mysterio nips up and drags Guerrera to the centre of the ring, before going to the ropes. He nails a beautiful Springboard Leg Drop and that is enough to get the 3 count.
Winner - Rey Mysterio
Rating - WCW 1997 vs WCW 2000/10
Post match the two men shake hands, and we return to the announce table one last time.
MJ: 'That is show one in the books, with Rey Mysterio taking the first main event win of the NWA Stable Wars era. But an impressive showing from Guerrera, who shows he van still go with the best of them.'
RD: 'Brother, I remember seeing these two god gifted men competing together in the 90's, they were both special talents. They are living proof that if you have faith in the man upstairs, he will keep you healthy and happy now and for all eternity.'
MJ: 'It's been a pleasure Reverend. We're out of time, join us next time for another action packed card. And keep your eyes peeled for another group reveal. Until then, have a great day.'
