NWA Stable Wars Show 5: Walter's Wrath Results
As the show begins, we get the usual pyrotechnics and music you'd expect. Then, we go to the announcers table, which this week is helmed by Magnus James and Kevin Nash.
MJ: 'Wrestling fans, welcome to the latest episode of NWA Stable Wars. I'm Magnus James, and joining me this week is a man who has gone through some personal tragedy recently, that being Kevin Nash. Kevin, this hasn't been an easy time for you, but its good to see you back at the announcers desk.'
KN: 'Thanks man. Losing Scott was one of the most painful things I've faced in my life, even more than tearing my quads. But if he were here, he'd say the show must go on and do it with a smile and laugh, so here I am.'
MJ: 'I agree completely. And I understand that you are going to be more involved with the younger talent backstage now, with the dissolution of Lucha Things, so we might not be seeing you here as often.'
KN: 'Yeah man, I want to give back to the vanilla midgets and lucha guys as much as I can. These dudes need my help to get an attitude. Though I'll tell ya, one guy I've not been able to find lately is Walter, he won't return my calls or answer his emails. Have you heard from him?'
MJ: 'Walter will be here tonight Kevin, as he addresses his sudden lack of allies. But from the sounds of it, maybe he wants to be alone. Let's head down to the ring for our first match, featuring The Redeemed in action.
Match 1
The Redeemed (Mustafa Ali, Angel Garza and Humberto Carillo) (w/Miro) vs Michael Nakazawa, Peter Avalon and Brandon Cutler
The Redeemed enter draped in their nations flags, and to the theme of the American national anthem, with the fans not really knowing how to react. Their wrestling acumen soon drew a more notable response, as the trio got to demonstrate their supreme wrestling talent. Ali started things off with Cutler, firing off some quick arm drags and dropkicks. Both men tagged out, as Garza mixed things up with Avalon. Avalon would face much of the same punishment, and would then fall victim to some quick tags with Carillo and the double team moves that followed. Avalon managed to break the routine with a thumb to the eye of Garza, tagging Nakazawa, who ended up running into a Superkick. Ali was tagged in, grabbed Nakazawa and hit a Tilt A Whirl DDT for a near fall. He then went up top, and nailed the 054 and that would et the three count.
Winners - The Redeemed
The Redeemed celebrated their win as we cut back to the announcers table.
MJ: 'An impressive debut for The Redeemed there, wouldn't you say Kevin.
Nash is on the phone, as he was last time he was on commentary.
KN: 'Hey Sonjay, can I have two Chicken McNuggets, fries and a large soda. Hello no, that diet shit sucks, give me full sugar dude.'
MJ: 'Yeah, that's about what I expected. Anyway, I can now confirm the brackets for our secondary title, which is to be known as the NWA Stable Wars Number One Contenders Trophy. The holder of this trophy will be entitled to a shot at the NWA Stable Wars Heavyweight championship anytime they so wish. Once they've had their shot, the title is vacated and a new champion will be crowned. Consider it like a Money in the Bank contract, but a more continuing presence throughout the year. Let's take a look at the matches themselves, and they all look to be exciting ones.'
A music video plays, showcasing the tournament brackets, which are as follows -
At the conclusion of the video, we return to the announcers.
MJ: 'Kevin, any thoughts on the tournament matches?'
KN: 'The tournament what now? I was on the phone man, you'll have to run that past me again.'
MJ: 'Well I'm not repeating all that. Let's get back to the ring for our second match.'
Match 2
Miro (w Mustafa Ali) vs Kerry Morton (w/Ricky Morton)
The fans gave a pretty big reaction for Ricky Morton and his son Kerry, who looks to be a future star in his own right. This, however, was not his night, as Miro proved himself as a force to be reckoned with. Morton threw some punches that had zero effect, then tried a charging Cross Body. Miro simply caught him in mid air and dropped him with a Fallaway Slam. Some knee lifts in the corner followed, then the Bullplex. Miro signals that it's over, as he locks in The Accolade for the quick submission.
Winner - Miro
Miro has his hand raised in victory by the referee, whilst Ricky tends to his downed son. We then return to the announce table.
MJ: 'Miro makes short work of Morton in that one. Kevin, you've got to be impressed with Miro's performance.'
KN: 'Of course, but is anyone going to comment on how young Robert Gibson looks. He looks young enough to be Ricky Morton's son.'
MJ: 'That wasn't Robert Gibson, that was Ricky Morton's son in there.'
KN: 'Really? Never mind then I guess.'
MJ: 'Insightful as always. I'm going to head down to the ring now, as its time to hear from Walter.
Magnus James is in the ring with a microphone in hand.
MJ: 'Wrestling fans, since the reveal of The Lucha Legacy, you have been asking what this means for Walter and his future involvement in NWA Stable Wars. We are about to find out. Ladies and gentlemen, please give a warm welcome to Walter.'
Walter walks down to the ring with a miserable look on his face.
MJ: 'Walter, right now you appear to be a man without a country, with Lucha Things now disbanded, the replacement group choosing not to bring you on board and all other stables in the company being full. Can you tell us what you plan to do next?'
W: 'I'll tell you little man. First of all, Rey Mysterio, I feel personally shocked and stunned by your cowardly actions. You form a new group and don't even give me a reason for not being part of it. You'd rather use nepotism to make your talentless son the focus. I'm better than all four guys you picked combined. Heck, I'm better than everyone else in this company combined, I'm the best wrestler on this god damn planet. Did you see what I did to Samoa Joe? I'm about to do the same to Brock Lesnar, followed by Bobby Lashley and his fat ass manager.
But that isn't where the ass kickings stop. Rey, you are top of my list, along with the rest of your sorry group of lucha rejects. In fact, all of the groups in NWA Stable Wars are on the list. I'm going to single handedly dismantle all of you, and there isn't a god damn thing any of you can do about it.'
Walter leaves, having said all that he needed to say. We go to a brief commercial break, before returning for our third match of the evening.
Match 3
Malakai Black (w/Bro Dallas and Erick Redbeard) vs James Drake
Black attacks Drake before the bell had even rung, hitting a Clothesline, then some big kicks that wind his opponent. Dallas cheers on every single move that Black hits, much to his distain, where Redbeard simply watches on with intent. Black slams Drake to the canvas and climbs up top, where he hits the Blood Moon Stomp. He covers Drake, but lifts his shoulders up before the three count. Lifting him up and throwing him into the ropes, he charges and nails the Black Mass, and that gets the academic 3 count.
Winner - Malakai Black
Black leaves before Dallas or Redbeard can enter to celebrate, with Dallas acting like he single handedly won this himself. We then return to our announcers.
MJ: 'Malakai Black wins in dominant fashion. Kevin, do you see Malakai Black as the favourite in the Number One Contender's Trophy Tournament?
KN: 'Heh, that Bo Dallas cracks me up. You didn't even wrestle man, it was that Tommy End guy.'
MJ: 'He's not called that anymore.'
KN: 'Oh right, he's Alistair Black now, right? I'm sure he'll go far in the Heavyweight Title tournament.'
MJ: 'Let's just get to the next item, that being the tournament brackets for the NWA Stable Wars Tag Team Title Tournament. This one could really go any number of ways, as eight top tag teams go in, and one will emerge as champions. How about we see those brackets.'
We again get a music video, showing the brackets for the Tag Team Title Tournament. The matches are as follows.
At the conclusion of the video, we return to the announce table.
MJ: 'A very intriguing bracket indeed, wouldn't you say so Kevin?'
KN: 'Yeah, that top half is loaded with vanilla midgets, and then you got some big and or fat dudes doing big or fat dude things in the other half. It'll be fun.'
MJ: 'I don't think anyone would class Major Jimmy or Sgt Spyder as big or fat, but otherwise I agree with your sentiments. Let's take you back to ringside for our main event.'
Match 4
Lucha Legacy (Dominik Mysterio, Bestia 666, Octagon Jr & El Hijo De LA Park) (w/Rey Mysterio) vs Juventud Guerrera, Super Crazy, Pyschosis and Mr Aguila
The veteran luchadors got a big ovation from the fans, in particular Super Crazy, with the thought to be retired Psychosis getting a nice pop too. The match was about what you would expect, as we saw plenty of arm drags, hurricanranas, headscissors takedowns and dives to the outside, all wrestled at far too quickly for this lazy recap author to attempt to keep up with. All you need to know is that the older stars proved they still have something to offer, whilst the Lucha Legacy looked strong in their debut showing as a team. And Rey Mysterio was also there. Dominik would be the one to get the victory, hiting a 619 on Psychosis and then a Frog Splash which was enough to get the 3 count.
Winners - Lucha Legacy
Post match, as the celebrations took place, suddenly Walter rushed down to the ring. He immediately stares Rey Mysterio down and they go nose to nose. Walter then shoves Mysterio down, before Dominik steps in and has an intense staredown with his former tag partner.
Dominik shoves Walter in the ropes, so he responds with a Lariat! Mysterio attempts to save his son, but Walter grabs him and drops him with a Powerbomb. The other three members of Lucha Legacy try a three on one beatdown, but Walter powers them all off of him. He grabs Bestia and Octagon and sends both to the canvas with a Double Lariat. Park then takes his chair and smashes it over Walter's back, but it has no effect. Walter grabs the chair for himself and smashes him with it, then dishes out chair shots to everyone else. His message sent, he throws the chair to the floor and leaves, as the Lucha Legacy try to pick themselves up off the canvas.
We return to the announce table once more, with Nash looking very shaken up.
MJ: 'Walter makes a big statement of intent here, doing exactly what he said he was going to do. That can't have been easy viewing for you Kevin.'
KN: 'It wasn't. Look, all jokes aside, I hate the fact its come to this. We were brothers in arms, the six of us were going to take over the wrestling world. First Scott goes, and now Walter's turned rogue. And there's jack shit I can do about it because I'm too old to stop him.'
MJ: 'Do you blame Rey for this, by choosing not to include Walter in his new group?'
KN: 'It might be in bad taste, but I blame Scott. The second he left our world everything went to shit. Look, I'm going to take off, you finish this on your own.'
Nash leaves the announcers table, as Magnus James is forced to finish the remainder of the show alone.
MJ: 'Wrestling fans, before we close our broadcast, I can reveal the brackets for the NWA Stable Wars Heavyweight Title Tournament. And, fresh off the presses of Walter's actions tonight, one of the matches has been altered to give a chance for a building grudge to, potentially, be settled.
We see a music video, once again revealing the brackets. Man, that must have been some very quick editing if a change has just been made. Either that or wrestling is pre-determined. Regardless, here are the brackets as they were presented.
We return to the announce table at the conclusion of the video.
MJ: 'That looks to be one hell of a difficult tournament to call, and I can't wait to see it all unfold. Next week will be dedicated to the first round matches in the Number One Contender's Trophy Tournament, with the following two shows focusing on the Tag Team and Heavyweight Title Tournaments respectively. Be sure to join us for all of that. Until next time, take care and goodnight.'
