SINGLES MATCH
Katakana vs. Puchteca
Katakana is vain, coming to the ring with stage hands carrying a full length mirror for him so that he can look perfect for his match. Puchteca is one of the last of a dying breed of warrior. Vintage Japan has made a major shift after nearly going bankrupt from falling behind the times. Puchteca is from the bygone era, and his loyalty was rewarded post rebrand. Katakana would keep the pace slow, leaving the ring multiple times to check himself out in the mirror, but it was just a ploy to get Puchteca frustrated. Katakana is a pretty boy, but he can move in the ring with grace, pulling off the kind of moves that would fit in W*W, and at only 22 years of age he was plenty of time to get even better! Puchteca would readjust and refocus, showing off why he has staying power in Vintage Japan, Puchteca has some of the hardest chops on the scene and is a long time student of the game. Katakana would attempt a springboard moonsault but Puchteca would catch him for a tombstone that he'd flip into a gut buster for the victory. Black Heart would come to the ring with Black Widow and his jester Uwan. It was all business in the ring as Black Widow announced that Vintage Japan owner Uraki desperate to have the more dominant warrior in Japan, added a stipulation to Black Heart's contract. Uraki promised Black Heart one title shot and he'd be using that right in his debut match! This would bring out the two brightest stars in Japanese wrestling today Ajari and Kaito! These two men were apart of the rebrand and have really put the promotion back on the map. Usually bitter enemies, both men take exception to the disrespect shown to the promoter/champion.
Uraki would come out with the championship, waving off both men, telling them that they don't need to defend his honor. Uraki knew what he was doing, and did it to save his company. This was his battle to fight, as he announced that in the main event Ajari and Kaito would face off for #1 contendership.
HERITAGE CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH Uraki(c) vs. Black Heart w/ Black Widow & Uwan
Black Heart is vile, but talented, his acumen for business is only rivaled by his skills in the ring. Uraki is the eldest, active wrestler on the Japanese scene. He's led the company through prosperity, to near ruin and back. His holding the championship is symbolic that he his the king of Japanese wrestling. Before Uraki would hand the title to the ref, Black Heart would strike with a Yakuza kick! The ref wanted to call it then and there but Uraki refused, his honor was on the line. The match started and Black Heart was a shark who smelled blood. Uraki was picked apart with Black Heart using a spinning back chop to easily take the championship. Black Widow would get on a microphone simply stating "ALL HAIL THE BLACK ARMY"
TAG TEAM MATCH
Baku/Paladin vs. BLUNDERBUSS (MINORI/Ryozo)
Paladin and Baku are reminiscent of the Steiner brothers from back in the day, except ya know, not actually brothers. They employed a lot of suplexes and feats of strengh. BLUNDERBUSS is one of the hottest tag teams in Vintage Japan. MINORI is a spit fire using speed and strikes to soften up their opponents where Ryozo will pick them apart with a submission based style, it's very effective and they execute it well. Baku ended up in a bad position as Ryozo hooked him up for a surf board curb stomp, with MINORI striking first with a boma ye style strike before Ryozo would plant Baku's face into the mat. Paladin was out of position as BLUNDERBUSS took the victory. SINGLES MATCH Otaku vs. Kodama
Otaku is a television star who decided to try his hand at the world of professional wrestling. Kodama is another of the elder statesmen, with a reputation for having a very serious demeanor. Otaku took the match jokingly, but Kodama wasn't having any of it. Kodama would toy with Otaku, actually having a little bit of fun, before planting Otaku with a STO. SINGLES MATCH Ajari vs. Kaito
Ajari is the hero of the promotion, he's got the looks and the skills, one of the biggest signings in Vintage Japan history. Kaito is the other biggest signing, he's arrogant but he can back it up. Kaito also has the biggest money contract of anyone on the roster. These two men put on a five star match, with so much competition from promotions like W*W and Shadow Arts, these two guys have the job of saving Vintage Japan and showing why they've been the leading promotion in Japan for years. It was back and forth with false finishes, brawls on the outside, reversals, twists and turn. Ajari almost had the match won with a frog splah elbow drop but Kaito wouldn't give up. Kaito would use a pumphandle blue thunder bomb for a near fall himself. After twenty minutes of raging war, the ring was flooded with gaijin! Chris Ashton, Dakota and Eric Crane would assault both men. It was a mugging as Black Heart and company would stand at the top of the ring watching on, this isn't over and we'll be back to make sense of what happened!

Nice showing for Katakana, but I had a feeling Puch was going to get it. Black Heart is cool, and gives an entertainment element to all of this that adds a little something. Having him beat Uraki is good,, as I can see the story developing. BLUNDERBUSS are great, I've always liked them and I'm glad they went over. I feel like inhave a good grasp of Ajari and Kaito, and you left the fans simultaneously wanting more while also wanting them to get revenge with that finish. The Black Army made a huge statement on this show. There was just enough entertainment here to make it feel big league, and I feel like I've got a pretty good grasp on some of these guys.
