WWF Superstars of Wrestling
October 15, 1988
From Indianapolis, Indiana @ Market Square Arena
Vince McMahon & Jesse The Body Ventura welcome viewers to the show, running down what is on tap for today ...
- Hacksaw Jim Duggan
- The return of Strike Force
- The Brother Love Show with The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase
- Outlaw Ron Bass
- The re-debut of Terry Taylor, presented by Hot Stuff & Hyatt International
- In the feature match, B Brian Blair takes on The Rock Don Muraco with a big surprise
Jesse Ventura: "And I know what the surprise is, McMannequin!"
Vince McMahon: "Well, what is it, Jesse?"
Jesse Ventura: "HA! Wouldn't you like to know? I think that toupee is sewn a little too tight to the top of your head this week!"
Vince McMahon: "Let's get to the ring."
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
1. Jake The Snake Roberts defeats Glen Johnson @ 1:47 via pinfall with the DDT. After the match, Roberts takes Damian out of the bag and places it on Johnson, slithering all over him. If Ravishing Rick Rude is watching, he may be regretting making a pass at Jake's wife Cheryl several weeks back right about now.

From the pages of the World Wrestling Federation magazine, here's Update ...
Gorilla Monsoon is in studio to talk about recent changes in the rankings of the WWF. None potentially have a bigger impact than the arrival of The Rock N Roll Express, one of the premiere tag teams in all of wrestling. Standing by for comment are Ricky & Robert ...
Robert Gibson: "Everybody knows that there is nothing that we like more than rocking n rolling all over the competition, and now, we'll be doing it right here in the World Wrestling Federation. And Demolition, that means we'll be coming after you and those Tag Team Titles."
Ricky Morton: "That's right because you see, we party hard but we also wrestle hard. Ax & Smash, get ready because the Express is coming and the next stop is you, and you'd better believe that the rock n roll will be playing all night long!"
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
2. Outlaw Ron Bass defeats Dale Williams @ 1:29 via pinfall after the Texas Gourdbuster. After the match, Bass too his whip, Miss Betsy, and started choking Williams with it. Brutus The Barber Beefcake would eventually hit the ring, sending Bass on the run as he looks for revenge for Bass did to him just before Summerslam '88, costing him his shot at The Honky Tonk Man and the IC Title.
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
3. Strike Force defeat Peter Simpson & Todd Jenkins @ 2:24 when Rick Martel made Jenkins submit to The Boston Crab. This was Martel's first match since just after Wrestlemania IV when Demolition injured him, leading to speculation that he & Tito Santana will be looking to get back in the hunt for Tag Team gold.

Event Center with Sean Mooney
An excited Mooney tells the viewers that there is always something going on in the World Wrestling Federation, noting the pursuit of the WWF Title by Bad News Brown, as he is standing by with comments ...
Bad News Brown: "Jack Tunney, it's time that you recognize that the Macho Man is running scared of Bad News Brown! All those beer belly sharecroppers out there keep watching while Macho Man hides from me, scared of me, and refusing to give me my opportunity! Well Jack Tunney, if I don't get that opportunity soon, there will be a knock on your door and when you answer it, don't be surprised if I bring a taste of Harlem, special delivery!"
Also, the Intercontinental champion is taking on all challengers, including the former champion, The Honky Tonk Man. Right now, let's hear from The Ultimate Warrior ...
Ultimate Warrior: "AHHHHHHHHHH! Feel the power, Honky Tonk Man! The power of all the Warriors out there, pulsing through my veins! They give me the strength I need and the power to overcome you, Honky Tonk Man! They interpret the voices telling me that the time for destruction is now, and when the bombs drop, the only one left standing will be me because I am a survivor - I am the Ultimate Warrior!!!"
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
4. Terry Taylor (w/ Eddie Gilbert & Missy Hyatt) defeats Lee Matthews @ 2:05 via submission to the Scorpion Deathlock. After a less than stellar start to his run here in the WWF, Gilbert & Hyatt have arrived in the WWF to start Hot Stuff & Hyatt International, taking on Taylor as the first client. During the match, mentions are made of Hyatt being the true first lady of wrestling by Jesse Ventura because with what we saw of Elizabeth at Summerslam '88 with her revealing polka dot dress in the main event, she's no lady!
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
The Brother Love Show
This week, Brother Love welcomes his guest, The Million Dollar Man Ted DiBiase and bodyguard Virgil. With Andre The Giant gone, it is time for DiBiase to look for somebody new that can go out and win him the WWF Title off of Macho Man Randy Savage. He would do it himself but he is too busy making money, something these people wouldn't know anything about! Effective immediately, DiBiase is offering a cash incentive of $1,000,000 to anybody that can defeat Savage and win the WWF Title, and this time, there will be no interference from Jack Tunney, because when it happens, the title will transfer over in a match with DiBiase winning it - 1, 2, 3. Brother Love tells Brother DiBiase that sounds like an excellent idea because Brother Savage and Sister Elizabeth are going to be exposed because there is no Macho in the world, only Love! He finishes with the trademark 'I loooooooooooooove you' before DiBiase does his sinister laugh.
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
5. Hacksaw Jim Duggan defeats Paul Trent @ 1:46 via pinfall after the running clothesline. After his win, Duggan waves around the American flag for all the fans, something that if Dino Bravo is watching, he's likely not a very big fan of because sooner or later, the two will meet and when they do, it will not only be Duggan's pride on the line but all of America. McMahon tries to encourage Ventura to do a 'HOOOOOOO' but Ventura isn't interested because he thinks Duggan's been hit in the head one too many times by that 2x4.
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
6. The Magnificent Muraco (w/ Mr. Fuji) defeats B Brian Blair @ 2:53 via pinfall after the Tombstone. A big surprise here as Don Muraco has dumped Superstar Billy Graham as a manager and returned to Mr. Fuji, going by Magificent Muraco again instead of The Rock Don Muraco. McMahon is almost angry, asking Ventura if this was the surprise - the surprise of Muraco turning his back on The Superstar and all the fans of the World Wrestling Federation! Ventura tells him that he got the inside scoop because it's all over Hollywood and the movie sets he's been on because Muraco & Fuji are going to take the acting world by storm again. Hollywood producers have been demanding the return of Fuji Vice and they just might get it and then some!

The Event Center with Sean Mooney
Mooney welcomes viewers back to The Event Center, telling fans that when it comes to the action here in the World Wrestling Federation, nobody flies higher than this man, Koko B. Ware ...
Koko B. Ware: "OHHH YEAHHHH!!! Ohhhhhh, yeah! It's been a great year for The Birdman but also a great year for Frankie! Oh yeah, brother, if you want to succeed here in the World Wrestling Federation, you gotta win and that's what we've been doing - oh yeah! So anybody wants to get in my way, get ready because The Birdman and Frankie are flying, brother, and we be flying right to the top of the WWF! OHHHH YEAH!!!"
Also, Ravishing Rick Rude might be on his own for now but he is preparing for the eventual showdown with Jake The Snake Roberts. He is standing by ...
Ravishing Rick Rude: "Jake Roberts, there's one thing you need to understand, and that is that I don't like snakes! In fact, I hate snakes! If I get Damian alone in that ring, I'm going to grab him and rip him in half! Not because I want to but because I can! And then, after I give you the Rude Awakening, I'll give one to your wife, Cheryl, and then you'll have nothing left! That's not the only way but it is the Ravishing way!"
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
The voice of Lord Alfred Hayes: "Promotional consideration paid for by the following."
- G.I. Joe! Play with your friends as Duke leads the forces against the evil COBRA! Action figures sold separately! GO JOE!
- Wade Boggs for Menin: "When I'm on the field, you can't let the other team know that you're sweating it. When I'm out after the game, the same goes for the ladies." New Speedstick for men! By Menin!
