SHOOTING STAR PRO-WRESTLING
PRESENTS
"BIG STAR BATTLE"
Live from Korakuen Hall
Tokyo, Japan
11/12/2022
The show opens with "ARCADIA" by Jupiter playing over a film roll of different high spots from the various stars of Shooting Star Pro-Wrestling, ending with a silhouetted figure that appears to be Jushin Liger holding up a finger, with shot ascending into a brilliant burst that turns into the SSPW logo. We then head ringside, where we are greeted by our announce team. On play-by-play we have the smiling and enthusiastic Yuji Shindo, who is accompanied by the somewhat more stoic ring veteran Kotetsu Yamamoto on color commentary.
Shindo and Yamamoto talk about the big main event tonight, with Yuji asking Kotetsu about what the mentality of a wrestler must be like knowing they will have to out last 20 other men in a battle royale. The ring veteran says that the keys to survival in a battle royale are equal parts stamina, awareness, and luck. He said it isn't going to necessarily be the most skilled man who will walk out with the title, but it will probably be the man who is willing to do whatever it takes to get it, which may mean more. Kotetsu says that in life it is not always the most skilled person in any job or sport that becomes the best, but the person who is willing to do whatever it takes, to grind it out, and out work everybody else, that's who is most likely to come out on top, and he says tonight we will see who is hungry enough for the gold to become champion and survive.
We then get a montage showing some of the bigger named combatants that we know are coming up in the main event battle royale, but Shindo and Yamamoto make sure to remind the fans that we could be in for some big surprises tonight. We then head to the ring, where Eiji Tosaka is standing in and ready to introduce our first competitors of the evening.
MATCH ONE
TRIOS TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit
Gran Naniwa, Koji Nakagawa, and Tsubasa vs. Masao Orihara, Men's Teioh, and Ricky Fuji
Referee: Mac Takeda
Orihara, Teioh, and Fuji were really laying it in as the heel team in this contest. They were being over the top assholes to their opponents, trying to make the fans care, and they seemed to do a decent enough job of achieving that end. Tsubasa was the work horse for his team, getting the fans behind him the most. Nakagawa was more or less just a warm body who could pull off the basics decently enough. Koji would hit a Pescado at one point, but even that wouldn't make anybody's pulse rise about 61. Naniwa and Men's Teioh had some fun exchanges, playing the to the crowd and using comedy, but Naniwa didn't seem to come into this looking to break a sweat. Tsubasa would get the win for his team, catching Fuji with a Springboard Huracanrana roll-up for the three count.
Winner by Pinfall: Gran Naniwa, Koji Nakagawa, and Tsubasa
(00:11:02)
After the match, Kai En Tai would hit the ring and attack the babyfaces, getting boos from the Tokyo crowd! Men's Teioh would actually hit the ring and high five with Taka Michinoku, who was in the ring with Dick Togo, Kaz Hayashi, and Shoichi Funaki. Taka gets on the microphone and says that last month, he proved to everybody that he is better than Jushin Liger and that Kai En Tai is the real deal. He then says that tonight, the take over truly begins. Kaz Hayashi then takes the microphone and says that El Samurai and Gran Hamada are going to try to step up to he and Funaki, but they are going to get buried! Dick Togo takes the microphone and says Kai En Tai is about business, and business is good, and if you step in their way, you're going to pay! Funaki then chimes in with an "INDEED!" and Michinoku, Togo, Hayashi, Funaki, and Teioh all laugh and pat each other on the back before giving a few more stomps to Naniwa, Nakagawa, and Tsubasa on the way out.
We go backstage, where we see Yumi Fukawa standing in with Manami Toyota and Toshiyo Yamada. Yumi Fukawa asks them for an update on Jaguar Yokota, who took a violent blow from Aja Kong "Star Power" last month. Yamada says that Yokota-chan is tough as nails, and that big bitch Kong isn't going to be the one to take her out! Toyota follows up, saying that she knew Kong had chosen a different path than her, but she never thought she'd see her disrespect their mentor like that. She never thought she would lay her hands on the woman who was responsible for not just them, but so many young women getting into this great sport, but here we are. Toyota says that for all of her size, strength, and power, for all of her image, Aja Kong is nothing but a coward!
A commotion can be heard off camera, and we zoom out a bit a pan to the left, and we see Aja Kong in a track suit trying to step up to Toyota and Yamada, but she is being held back by security. Toyota and Yamada go to confront her when suddenly they are ATTACKED FROM BEHIND! LCO HAVE STRUCK THEM FROM BEHIND WITH CHAIRS! Akira Hokuto, Takako Inoue, Mima Shimoda, and Etsuko Mita are attacking, and in comes officials to break things up before it gets too bad!
Yuji Shindo is yelling that this is pure chaos! The crowd can be heard in the background going crazy!
Kong is yelling that they are going to get more of that tonight!
MATCH TWO
STANDARD RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Chikayo Nagashima vs. Toshie Uematsu
Referee: Ted Tenabe
This was just a short contest to get these two women exposed. They put on a nice little sprint for the fans that was simple enough. Chikayo Nagashima was trying to just bum rush Uematsu early to throw her off. Chikayo would spam about five dropkicks in a row, sending Toshie to the outside and opening her up to a Crossbody to the floor. Chikayo would send her back in, but Toshie would manage to catch her on the top rope with a superplex to change the tides, and it wouldn't take much longer for her to hit a German Suplex for a near fall and then a Fisherman's Buster to get the three count.
Winner by Pinfall: Toshie Uematsu
(00:05:16)
Backstage, we see Jushin "Thunder" Liger standing in with Yumi Fukawa. Yumi asks if Liger saw what Kai En Tai did earlier in the show, and Liger says he did and he is not surprised. He says they are the biggest bunch of cowardly fools he has ever seen, and he cannot wait to get into the ring and tear them all limb from limb! He says Michinoku has gone out of his way to make this personal, and if he had it his way, he'd have finished him off last month, or he'd have been able to get his hands on him one-on-one tonight, but that's not the way it is. But he guarantees Yumi and the fans that "Thunder" will strike tonight in that ring, and he's going to make the most of it and walk out the Superstar of Wrestling champion!
We head back ringside, where Shindo and Yamamoto talk about what Liger just said, and Yamamoto says that Liger sounds like a man who is out for vengeance tonight.
MATCH THREE
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Minoru Fujita & Ikuto Hidaka vs. Gedo & Jado
Referee: Shiro Abe
Gedo & Jado fell at the hands of Hayabusa and Jinsei Shinzaki last month, but tonight they looked like a well oiled machine and looked to get into the win column. Fujita and Hidaka are a veteran team, but Gedo and Jado were just hitting at a different level, and Jado would deliver a Brainbuster on Fujita to put this match away. Gedo and Jado would show Hidaka and Fujita no respect after the match, posing over Minoru's fallen body as the fans seemed to disapprove.
Winners by Pinfall: Gedo & Jado
(00:08:23)
We go backstage, and LCO, consisting of Akira Hokuto, Takako Inoue, Mima Shimoda, and Etsuko Mita have hijacked a camera man. Takako threatens the camera man with a lead pipe, yelling at him to steady the camera and get their message out!
Hokuto is crouched down behind the others, staring with wide eyes at a chair with blood smeared across the dented back support. They step to the side as the camera zooms in. Hokuto speaks, but doesn't avert her glare. She just stares down and speaks in a very stoic way. Hokuto says that Toyota and Hamada consider themselves righteous. She says there's a lot of that going around. Meiko Satomura, Sonoko Kato... Mariko Yoshida... All of them. They think they are the "good guys", while people like the LCO are nothing but scum. But she says scum rises to the top. Scum festers. It overtakes things. She says they are fighting a losing battle in this fucked up world, and it's the strongest, the most brutal, the sickest and most twisted that will be the ones who stand on top of the wreckage and rule in this Hell.
Hokuto says that she is the "The Queen of the Damned", and she sentences all of these bitches to be attacked and tortured and humiliated... but she will let them live. Death would be too kind. Euthanasia would be nothing but mercy; a kindness they do not deserve. Instead, LCO are going to take them down, destroy them and make them watch as they piss on their idols, burn down their institutions, desecrate everything that they hold dear.
And there is only one promise to be made, one thing they can count on with absolute certainly:
They will suffer.
Takako then shoves the lens of the camera, and we cut to ringside.
Shindo and Yamamoto are near speechless before setting up the next match, which involves the LCO.
MATCH FOUR
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit
Etsuko Mita & Mima Shimoda vs. Meiko Satomura & Sonoko Kato
Referee: Keigo Yoshino
Out to the ring comes Satomura and Kato, but Satomura is wearing her street clothes. Shindo and Yamamoto comment about this being unusual. Out to the ring come Mita and Shimoda with Takako Inoue behind them, and they are wielding chairs and getting big time boos from the crowd. Speaking of the crowd, Ayako Hamada jumps from the crowd and she has a gym bag in hand! Hamada jumps on the apron with the bag, and Satomura and Kato rush over and start to yell at her as she laughs and flips them off! Security pulls her back, but Mita and Shimoda take advantage, attacking their opponents from behind viciously! This match is a straight up brawl, and mostly a mugging, as Satomura and Kato were blindsided hard to start and couldn't seem to regain their composure. Mita hits a Death Valley Bomb on Satomura, followed by a Flying Chairdrop from Shimoda from the middle turnbuckle, and it's all over.
Winners by Pinfall: Etsuko Mita & Mima Shimoda
(00:05:50)
After the match, Manami Toyota and Toshiyo Yamada run over, and they are bandaged up but they have chairs in hand and they attack Shimoda, Mita, and Inoue from behind and send them running to the back as the fans go crazy! Toyota grabs a mic and yells that they aren't dead yet, and they are ready to kick Kong and Hokuto's ass tonight!
The fans are chanting for Manami as she gets on the buckles and motions for them to bring it on, and Yamamoto says that these girls just don't know how to stay down!
Backstage, Yumi Fukawa is standing in with Mariko Yoshida and Hiroyo Matsumoto. Fukawa says that at "Star Power" these two were enemies, but tonight they team up to face off with Yoshiko Tamura and Ayumi Kurihara. Fukawa asks why they have come together tonight? Matsumoto says that in the heat of battle last month, she did work to defeat Yoshida, but she says that if wasn't for Yoshida and her training, she wouldn't be in this business. She says that after what Tamura and Kurihara did in leaving her on her own, and then their words of Yoshida after the fact, that she knew she would need to stand with "The Spider" to make them pay!
Yoshida then says that she gave them a beating last month here in the back, but none of that matters if it doesn't happen in the ring. She wants to make them beg and suffer between those ropes and make them regret the day they ever crossed "The Spider"!
MATCH FIVE
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit
Kaz Hayashi & Shoichi Funaki vs. El Samurai & Gran Hamada
Referee: Ted Tanabe
Hayashi and Funaki are representing Kai En Tai here, and they have Men's Teioh on the outside running a bit of interference for them throughout. Gran Naniwa would make his way out and attack Teioh mid way through, getting a little pay back from earlier and this caused a distraction from Kai En Tai that changed the tide up a bit. Funaki and Hayashi would use underhanded tactics to regain control and looked to try for a Double Superplex on Hamada, but Hamada would manage to break free. He would send Hayashi flying down to the ground and would deliver a Sunset Flip off of the buckles on Funaki to get the three count, and the crowd went wild!
Winner by Pinfall: El Samurai & Gran Hamada
(00:14:04)
After the match, Hayashi and Funaki looked like they might try something, but Hamada stood them down and then took the microphone and said he's seen enough of this crap around here! He says that he's not scared of them, and he hopes Jushin Liger gets his hands on that punk Michinoku tonight, and the fans and the commentators all agree!
MATCH SIX
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit
Ayumi Kurihara & Yoshiko Tamura vs. Hiroyo Matsumoto & Mariko Yoshida
Referee: Keigo Yoshino
Kurihara and Tamura would try to control the pace early, playing mind games with their opponents and trying not to engage unless it was on their terms. Hiroyo and Yoshida would try to push things, but eventually the crafty Tamura would catch them and make them pay. Tamura is ruthless and very hard hitting, and she and Kurihara really put a beating on Matsumoto. Yoshino would try to keep some order in this match and keep Yoshida from interfering, and this drove "The Spider" crazy on the apron. Hiroyo is very tough and powerful, though, and she would manage to catch Kurihara with a Lariat, and then would leap and hot tag Yoshida at about the ten minute mark to make the Korakuen Hall light up! Yoshida would use crisp take downs on both Kurihara and Tamura, and Tamura knew this was no good and got the hell out of dodge. She didn't want to mix it up with a red hot Yoshida, and Mariko would lock up Kurihara in the Spider Twist to get the submission.
Winners by Submission: Hiroyo Matsumoto & Mariko Yoshida
(00:12:47)
Mariko would get on the ropes after the match and yell at Tamura to get in there and fight her, but Tamura scoffed at this and told Yoshida that she was dreaming. She said that she's the Ace, and she calls the shots, not Yoshida, and things will happen on her time!
MATCH SEVEN
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit
Aja Kong & Akira Hokuto vs. Manami Toyota & Toshiyo Yamada
Referee: Mac Takeda
This match was absolutely insane. These ladies were not interested in having a nice clean contest, and nobody expected them to. Mac Takeda is known for being very lax on the rules, and he was just the man for the job here, as these women had more of street fight than a wrestling match, though with huge high risk maneuvers thrown in for good measure. At one point, Manami Toyota climbed up on the frame of the entry way and flew off onto her opponents in a big moment! All four women were busted open by the end of it, and when it looked like Toyota and Yamada were going to get the win, out came LCO to try to stop it! However, we had Jaguar Yokota run down, and she had Meiko Satomura and Sonoko Kato with her, and they were looking for receipts from their earlier beat down! All hell broke loose, and it was Yokota smacking Kong over the head with a chair, leading her to catch a Missile Dropkick from Toyota, that set up the pinfall for Toyota and Yamada that got them the win!
Winners by Pinfall: Manami Toyota & Toshiyo Yamada
(00:24:01)
After the match, Jaguar Yokota stood on the buckles and waved on the fans to get their support, as the Toyota, Yamada, Satomura, and Kato all held strong in the middle of the ring, looking victorious as the villains of Kong and LCO all retreated in defeat tonight.
MATCH EIGHT

20-MAN BATTLE ROYALE RULES
No Time Limit
Referee Ted Tanabe holds up the championship belt in the center of the ring, and then the first four entrants enter the ring to start the contest. A new entrant will then enter every 60 seconds until all 20 have entered, and then the match will go until there is one man left standing. The first four enter as follows.
1. Jushin Liger / 2. Koji Kanemoto / 3. Taka Michinoku / 4. Tatsumi Fujinami
Liger and Michinoku obviously have a lot of heat, and Liger goes right after Michinoku. Kanemoto and Fujinami mix it up a bit, with Kanemoto stunning him with a kick in the corner. The buzzer sounds, and out comes the next entrant:
5. Super Delfin
Delfin has ties to Michinoku, and he helps him attack Liger. Fujinami, though, delivers a series of armdrags to send Michinoku, Delfin, and Kanemoto all reeling. Liger and "The Dragon" then whip Delfin and Michinoku into each other in the center of the ring, causing a big clash! Hayabusa, Fujinami, and Liger begin trying to eliminate Michinoku and Delfin in the corners. Michinoku lands on his feet after being pushed over by Liger and Fujinami, and he pokes Fujinami in the eye and then begins choking Liger on the top rope!
The buzzer sounds, and out comes the next entrant:
7. Dick Togo
Back up has arrived yet again for Taka Michinoku, as Kai En Tai member Dick Togo has hit the ring! Upon sliding into the ring Togo tries to decapitate Hayabusa with a Lariat. Fujinami lands a series of quick kicks on Togo, but Delfin attacks Fujinami from behind and they mug him for a bit. Taka delivers a Tornado DDT on Liger out of the corner, and then he, Togo, and Delfin all send Fujinami out over the top rope. They pose and flex victoriously as the fans boo them.
Tatsumi Fujinami has been eliminated!
Liger and Hayabusa attack Michinoku, Togo, and Delfin, with Liger choking Michinoku in the corner and Hayabusa landing quick back and forth strikes of Togo and Delfin. Delfin and Togo manage to overtake Hayabusa and they begin trying to shove him over the top rope.

Naruse enters and immediately grabs Delfin from behind and delivers a Release German Suplex! Togo turns his attention to Naruse and tries to attack, but Naruse catches an oncoming kick and takes him down with a Leg Lock! Michinoku has gotten the better of Liger with a low blow at this point and goes over to stomp Naruse off of Togo. Naruse and Michinoku exchange strikes before Hayabusa flies off the top rope and catches Taka with a Huracanrana, popping the crowd! Hayabusa then runs and catches the hobbling Togo near the ropes with a Front Dropkick, and Togo flies over the top to the floor!
Dick Togo has been eliminated!
Liger, Taka, Naruse, Delfin, and Hayabusa all remain in the ring.
The buzzer sounds, and out comes the next entrant:
9. Atsushi Onita
A big name surprise entrant hits the ring here, as hardcore legend Onita makes his way out wearing a leather jacket and looking to kick some ass! The crowd is chanting for Onita as he comes in and lights EVERYBODY up with big punches before drilling Super Delfin with a Flowing DDT! Naruse grabs Onita from behind to try for another German Suplex, but Hayabusa grabs him off of his mentor and sends him over the ropes. Naruse lands on his feet on the apron, but Onita runs and dropkicks him, sending Naruse to the floor!
Masayuki Naruse has been eliminated!
In a shocking turn of events, Taka actually jumps off of Delfin's back while he is on all fours and catches Onita with a clothesline, and that sends Onita over the ropes and to the floor! The crowd can't believe it and neither can Onita!
Atsushi Onita has been eliminated!
Onita grabs a chair and tries to reenter the ring to go after Taka, but the referees get involved and stop it. Onita ends up throwing the chair into the ring to Hayabusa, however, and he uses it to hit Delfin, sending him spinning over the top rope to the outside!
Super Delfin has been eliminated!
The buzzer sounds, and out comes the next entrant:
10. Naoki Sano
Sano is a heated former rival of Jushin Liger, and he hits the ring with a lot of energy, catching Hayabusa with a spin kick to the chair to send him down! Sano then goes after Liger, who has taken quite the beating at this point. Taka joins Sano, and they stomp Liger in the corner. The referees have reached in and removed the chair from the ring. Sano and Taka are trying to remove Liger over the top, but Hayabusa manages to get back over there and goes after Sano, attacking him with clubbing blows before sending kicks into Taka's midsection.
The buzzer sounds, and out comes the next entrant:
11. Jinsei Shinzaki
Hayabusa's tag team partner is out, and the tables have turned in favor of the good guys! Shinzaki flies in off the top rope and delivers a massive overhand chop to the skull of Taka Michinoku to knock him silly! Taka is actually hit so hard that he rolls under the ropes and to the floor from the momentum. Yamamoto reminds everyone that you can only be eliminated if you are tossed over the top rope to the outside. Sano hits a flurry of strikes on Hayabusa and Shinzaki, taking Shinzaki off of his feet with a Rolling Sole Butt! Liger is able to nuetralize Sano, however, with a Running Shotei Palm Strike that knocks him silly!
The buzzer sounds, and out comes the next entrant:
12. Shinjiro Otani
Otani throws his jacket off and looks to be all business! Otani clocks Hayabusa first with a closed right hand, and then Shinzaki, and then he catches Liger with two right hands! Sano grabs Otani from behind, but Otani clocks him, sending him into the ropes, and then Otani runs and delivers a boot that sends Sano over the ropes and down to the floor!
Naoki Sano has been eliminated!
Hayabusa picks himself up on the ropes and Otani runs over to him and delivers a boot, and HAYABUSA FLIES OUT OF THE RING TO THE FLOOR!
Hayabusa has been eliminated!
Otani is looking like an ass kicking machine in there, as Taka Michinoku rolls back into the ring very gingerly.
Otani, Liger, Michinoku, and Shinzaki are left in there fighting for position.
The buzzer sounds, and out comes the next entrant:
13. Great Sasuke
Sasuke runs out to a hero's welcome from the Korakuen crowd, and he flies into action with a Ryder Kick on Otani from the top turnbuckle! Taka is pounding on Shinzaki in the corner, and Sasuke turns his sights to him, delivering a quick series of strikes, but Michinoku ducks a high kick and grabs Sasuke from behind and hits a German Suplex! Sasuke rolls up to his feet though, clinching his fists and shaking his head and the crowd roars! Another series of strikes, and this time he kicks Michinoku in the midsection and lifts him up... THUNDER FIRE POWERBOMB!
Sasuke picks up Michinoku and looks like he's going to eliminate him, but Otani COLD COCKS SASUKE with a massive right hand! Tajiri claps smiles a wicked smile before turning and running, hitting a Front Dropkick that sends Shinzaki over the ropes! Shinzaki lands on the apron, though, and holds onto the ropes for dear life! Tajiri measures him up, though, and once he stands tries to Roundhouse Kick him.
