SHOOTING STAR PRO-WRESTLING
PRESENTS
"BIG STAR BATTLE"
Live from Yokohama Arena
Yokohama, Japan
12/10/2022
The opening credits for Shooting Star Pro-Wrestling roll, and then we get an outdoor shot of the Yokohama Arena.
We then get a look inside at the crowd before being greeted by the voice of SSPW, Yuji Shindo, and his broadcast partner and analyst Kotetsu Yamamoto. After running down the card, which includes a big eight woman tag team match main event, we head to the ring, where L.C.O. are heading out to boos from the crowd.
In the ring stands Akira Hokuto, the leader of LCO, backed by Takako Inoue, Mima Shimoda, and Etsuko Mita. They are all holding weapons and are acting very punkish, yelling insults at the crowd. Hokuto snatches the microphone from Eiji Tosaka, with Shimoda threatening to bash him with a steel chair.
"All of you people can kiss our asses!" yells Hokuto, as the crowd continues to boo. There are a few simps in the crowd who seem to want to take her up on it, but we will move along...
"You people LOVE Toshiyo Yamada and Manami Toyota," pause for a pop, "but they are cowards! They refuse to let us know who their partners are tonight, but it doesn't matter! There isn't a bitch or two that can stand up to LCO and they know it! You can hide all you want, but we're going to find you and we're going to destroy you!"
This brings out Manami Toyota and Toshiyo Yamada with microphones.
Yamada yells to Hokuto, "We ain't runnin' from anybody! I'll come down there right now and take all of you!"
Yamada steps forward, but Toyota holds her back.
"No, no, no! We'll get them later tonight!" proclaims Toyota. "You all talk tough up there, but we've got a couple of bad bitches here to help us take you out!"
Music hits, and then out from behind the curtain walks Bull Nakano and Kyoko Inoue! The fans let out a big cheer as Yamamoto goes through some of the history Bull has with Akira, and Kyoko is a former partner with Takako to much success. Bull takes the microphone as we see LCO in the ring looking a bit more subdued than before.
"I'm going to enjoy rippin' you all limb from limb tonight! Hokuto, you're acting like you're the baddest woman on the planet, but you've just been keeping my seat warm! Momma's home, and I'm here to clean up!"
Bull slams the mic into Kyoko's chest, who is grinning and staring a hole towards the ring.
"You all make me sick! And Takako, you make me sick THE MOST, because you decided to side with this slime! Now you've become a disgusting whore like them, with no honor, no dignity, and as your old friend, I feel I now have to put you down like the dog you've become."
Takako kind of laughs like, "Oh really!?" and then grabs the microphone from Hokuto, "I think we've talked enough! Let's go!"
Toyota tries to hold her team back, but there's no stopping it and she ends up joining in. We have a short eight woman brawl before there's a pull apart. Bull manages to break loose and get a big slap on Hokuto to a major pop, but soon she is back under control. Shindo sends us to a commercial break as we regain order.
MATCH ONE
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Daisuke Ikeda & Katsumi Usuda & vs. Koji Kanemoto & Minoru Tanaka
Referee: Shiro Abe
Ikeda and Usuda are both tough and serviceable opponents, but this was clearly a showcase for the Junior Stars. Kanemoto and Tanaka were very smooth in this match, and looked great in victory, as Kanemoto delivered a Bridging Tiger Suplex to get the pinfall.
Winners by Pinfall: Koji Kanemoto & Minoru Tanaka
(00:06:14)
Backstage we see Yumi Fukawa standing in with Kai En Tai. Taka Michinoku says that tonight they are going to show why Kai En Tai is the most dominant team in wrestling, and he will personally show that losing the Big Star Battle was nothing more than a fluke. He said Liger is a paper champion, a place holder, and the real champion will have the gold sooner or later!
MATCH TWO
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Ayako Hamada & Akino vs. Ran Yu-Yu & Toshie Uematsu
Referee: Ted Tenabe
Yu-Yu and Uematsu have the experience advantage over their opponents as a team, but Hamada and Akino weren't messing around. Hamada was especially incensed in this contest, and showed a lot of attitude through out. Akino is a great technical wrestler, and she had an awesome back and forth exchange with Uematsu that got the fans going before Uematsu would hit a Capture Suplex for a two count. Hamada would cut off the hot streak for Uematsu and deliver an Diving Diamond Dust from the middle turnbuckle to get the victory!
Winners by Pinfall: Ayako Hamada & Akino
(00:09:20)
After the match, Hamada would get on the mic and say that she wants another shot at Meiko Satomura! She said no more games with stealing her clothes, no more tricks, nothing like that! She wants to face her woman to woman and prove her and her fighting system is superior!
MATCH THREE
TRIOS TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit
Gedo, Jado, and Super Delfin vs. Gran Naniwa, Hayabusa, and Tiger Mask IV
Referee: Mac Takeda
This was a chaotic Mac Takeda reffed affair. There wasn't much regard paid towards tagging in and out, and we had a lot of emphasis on high spots, and also grandiose posturing from the heels. Gedo, Jado, and Delfin tried to take every short cut they could to get the win here, but Hayabusa would manage to catch Jado with a Springboard Huracanrana to roll him up and get the three count!
Winners by Pinfall: Gran Naniwa, Hayabusa, and Tiger Mask IV
(00:12:33)
After the match, Super Delfin would attack Hayabusa with a chair, and then quickly exit the ring. Hayabusa's partner Jinsei Shinzaki would make his way out fast and shove Delfin, leading to a brawl on the outside that also involved the other participants in the match. This, however, lead Shinjiro Otani and Tatsuhito Takaiwa out from behind, and they also attacked the good guys! Otani would powerbomb Shinzaki onto the floor, and then roll him into the ring. Yuji Shindo points out that these two were already scheduled for a match, and out runs referee Keigo Yoshino, and apparently this match is on!
MATCH FOUR
SINGLES RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Jinsei Shinzaki vs. Shinjiro Otani
Referee: Keigo Yoshino
Shinzaki is hurting bad, and Yamamoto doesn't have much sympathy for him on commentary. Yamamoto points out that Shinzaki knew he had a tough customer like Otani lined up for him tonight, and he should have minded his own business. Shindo points out that Hayabusa is Shinzaki's best friend, and he couldn't let him get attacked, but Yamamoto said that the attacking was done, and called Shinzaki a hot head and sentimental fool! Kotetsu seems like he might be right, as Otani blasts Jinsei with big right hands, followed by a high boot in the corner, and then hits a Briding Dragon Suplex to get the pinfall.
Winner by Pinfall: Shinjiro Otani
Otani and Takaiwa celebrate in the ring, with Otani spitting on the fallen Shinzaki as the fans boo them to the back.
We go backstage, where Yumi Fukawa is sitting down with Mariko Yoshida. Fukawa says that Yoshida must be frustrated by the actions of Yoshiko Tamura over the last couple of shows. Yoshida says that Tamura is a hypocrite who continues to show her true colors by running from the fight. Mariko says that Yoshiko looks down on her, but she has no idea what she is talking about. Fukawa asks her why she thinks Tamura doesn't respect her, and she says it is because she believes that Yoshida wronged her mentor Kyoko Inoue years ago. But she says she owes Kyoko Inoue nothing! She says it is great to see Inoue back here tonight, as she is one of the best wrestlers of all time, but she says she has no friendship or loyalty to Kyoko. She says they may have came up in the same class together, but when she broke her neck, did Kyoko Inoue help her in any way? No, she did not. She took advantage of that opportunity, and for the two years she was on the shelf, Kyoko became a megastar, while Mariko suffered, and when she came back, did Kyoko try to bring her up with her? No, she squashed her down and tried to make sure she could keep her spot. She says she has no love for Kyoko Inoue, but she does respect her, unlike Yoshiko Tamura, who deserves no respect. She says the next time they meet, she is going to teach her a lesson. She says she sat on the sidelines for two years with a broken neck and had to watch the world pass her by, and watch this industry boom, and by the time she came back, there was barely anything left for her! She said SSPW is on the rise, and Yoshiko Tamura is going to fall by HER HANDS, as she is going to put HER OUT, and she can watch and cry as everything passes her by, and live with her regret for the rest of her life for ever crossing Mariko Yoshida!
Fukawa wishes Yoshida luck in her match tonight as she ends this segment.
We go back to the commentary team, where Yuji Shindo responds that those were chilling words from the "Spider", and we head back to Eiji Tosaka in the ring for our next match.
MATCH FIVE
SINGLES RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Mariko Yoshida vs. Tomoka Nakagawa
Referee: Shiro Abe
Tomoka Nakagawa is rarely an easy night out for anybody, as she is about as tough as they come, but Yoshida was on another level tonight. "The Spider" was all over Nakagawa, and you could see Tomoka's will was broken with the first couple of minutes. Yoshida would ground and pound her before locking on a Cross Armbar, but Nakagawa showed her heart by getting her feet on the ropes. Yoshida would proceed to deliver the Air Raid Crash, which would have been enough, but Yoshida needed to exorcise some demons. She would lock on the Spider Twist and Abe would immediately call for the bell, with Yoshida screaming out, "YOSHIKO! YOSHIKO!" Yamamoto points out that she seemed to be imagining tearing apart Yoshiko Tamura here, as Yuji Shindo says he feels sorry for Nakagawa, and almost feels sorry for Tamura when Yoshida gets her hands on her.
Winner by TKO: Mariko Yoshida
(00:04:45)
Mariko looks down coldly at Nakagawa, but then Yoshiko Tamura's music hits and she perks up and looks towards the entrance ramp. Out walks Tamura, wearing her sunglasses and leather jacket, looking unimpressed.
"Yoshida, I heard what you said, and it's all bullshit! I don't even believe you had a neck injury! You just didn't have what it takes, plain and simple! You ran away, and when you finally got the courage to come back, Kyoko Inoue and everyone else who had the guts to stick it out became successes, and you just live in that regret every day of what you are... A FAILURE! You're nothing but a loser compared to me, and nothing is going to change that. If you cross me again, it won't be two years you'll be sitting on the sidelines... I'm going to put you out for good!"
Yoshida grabs a mic.
"Fine, then let's see! Fight me next month! See what happens!"
Tamura laughs and shakes her head.
"Well, Mariko, I would, but I already signed on for a match with her little pupil Hiroyo Matsumoto next month, so, sorry. It's not going to happen. Stick your nose in my business, and it's never going to happen. You watch and see what happens to her, and maybe you'll reconsider and just move on before I hurt you."
Tamura casually drops the mic and walks off, and Yoshida slams her fist into the top turnbuckle.
MATCH SIX
SINGLES RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Kyoko Kimura vs. Meiko Satomura
Referee: Mac Takeda
Kyoko Kimura just watched her tag team partner get decimated in the last match and didn't want to follow that pattern. She came in very hot and agve Satomura an early beating. Satomura, though, is one of the hottest prospects we have in SSPW, and she would make a big comeback. Satomura would deliver a Death Valley Bomb, followed by a Shining Axe Kick to the back of Kimura's head to get the three count!
Winner by Pinfall: Meiko Satomura
After the match, Satomura gets on the microphone and says that Ayako Hamada challenged her earlier tonight, and that she accepts the rematch! She says Hamada has tried to play games with her, but she agrees, the games stop now! She says Hamada may not respect her or the Crush Gals, but she will have no choice but accept who the better woman is when she bashes her in the head again and pins her for the three!
We go backstage, where we see Jushin "Thunder" Liger, Superstar of Wrestling champion, standing in his mask and work out clothes. Liger apologizes to the Yokohama fans for missing the show, before lifting up his shirt to reveal wrapped up ribs. He says he sustained a rib injury when he hit the guardrail at Big Star Battle, and he was not medically cleared to be there tonight. He said he knows Taka Michinoku is looking for a fight, and he says he will be ready to put him down once and for all at the Budokan Hall in Tokyo next month at "Super Collider"! Liger says that Taka is a jealous, bitter little coward who has to hide behind his faction. He says years ago he ran from Japan to the United States because he couldn't stand living in his shadow, but he says he couldn't even escape it there. He says Taka went on TV every week, but everybody knew he was the best wrestler in Japan.
We go back to the commentary team, where they talk about that big match that was just announced, as well as talking up "Super Collider" as an event, with tickets on sale now! We then head back to the ring for our next contest.
MATCH SEVEN
TRIOS TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 20 Minute Time Limit
Taka Michinoku, Kaz Hayashi, and Shoichi Funaki vs. El Samurai, Gran Hamada, and Great Sasuke
Referee: Keigo Yoshino
The young Yoshino had some trouble keeping order in this match, as Kai En Tai were very slick in their underhanded tactics, and would use the help of MEN's Teioh and Ricky Fuji on the outside. Samurai, Hamada, and Sasuke would manage to take control, with Sasuke hitting an amazing Tumbling Flipping Suicida onto all five of the Kai En Tai members for a big pop! Hamada would get Funaki into the ring and take him to the top turnbuckle, where he looked like he might be going for a Frakensteiner, but MEN's Teioh would rush to the apron and toss a handful of powder into his eyes to stun and blind him! Taka Michinoku would get into the ring behind him and roll him up off of the buckles and get the three count as the fans booed!
Winners by Pinfall: Taka Michinoku, Kaz Hayashi, and Shoichi Funaki
(00:14:56)
Kai En Tai would bolt the scene as Sasuke and Samurai grabbed chairs to chase them off. Hamada looked livid on the inside of the ring, and grabbed a mic and tells Kai En Tai they aren't going to get away with this crap forever!
MATCH EIGHT
EIGHT PERSON TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 40 Minute Time Limit
Akira Hokuto, Etsuko Mita, Mima Shimoda, and Takako Inoue vs. Manami Toyota, Toshiyo Yamada, Kyoko Inoue, and Bull Nakano
Referee: Ted Tenabe
Yamamoto points out that Ted Tenabe was put in charge of this thing to help try to bring some order to it, as Murakawa Masanori knew this would likely get out of control. Tenabe is very no nonsense and did a good job early of making sure both teams respected the tagging rules, and one woman in the ring at a time. Kyoko would call out Takako first, and these two former tag champions would have it out. Takako would choke and bite Inoue, but Inoue would eventually get her up on her shoulders and spin her around and send her begging for a tag out.
Yamada would get in with Shimoda, and she would manage to light up Shimoda with kicks early, only to get caught with a German Suplex and then get beaten down by Shimoda, and then Mita, and then Hokuto. Yamada would make a hot tag to Toyota, and Toyota would fly in with a Springboard Dropkick to Hokuto. Hokuto would tag back out to Takako, and Takako and Toyota would have a nice back and forth. Toyota would do her trick where she jumps up and balances on the top rope, and she would manage to tag out to Bull Nakano mid move before leaping backwards and hitting a Crossbody on Takako!
All Hell would break loose from there. In comes Bull Nakano, who grabs Takako by the hair and tosses her into the corner, and then grabs Hokuto by her hair and throws her INTO THE RING TO A HUGE CHEER! Tenabe would try to restrain Nakano, but Nakano would shove him away and start bouncing Hokuto's head off the mat by her hair! This would lead Mita and Shimoda to hit the ring, and then it was all chaos from there!
The fighting would spill to the outside, which opened things up for Aja Kong to head out with a trash can and bash Manami Toyota over the head with it while she was fighting with Hokuto! This would then lead to Jaguar Yokota running out and jumping Kong, and those two fighting before security would break it up! The midst of this chaos, Hokuto would get Toyota back into the ring and hit the Northern Lights Bomb to get the three count!
Winners by Pinfall: Akira Hokuto, Etsuko Mita, Mima Shimoda, and Takako Inoue
(00:32:43)
After the match, Bull Nakano would hit Hokuto in the back with a chair and then deliver the Poseidon (Back to Belly Piledriver) to her! The rest of LCO would come in and attack Bull, but Yamada and Kyoko Inoue would manage to run them off, and by the end it was Bull, Manami, Yamada, Inoue, and Jaguar Yokota all standing tall in the ring to close the show!
