SHOOTING STAR PRO-WRESTLING
PRESENTS
"SUPER COLLIDER"
Live from Budokan Hall
Tokyo, Japan
01/07/2023
The opening credits for Shooting Star Pro-Wrestling roll, and then we get an outdoor shot of Budokan Hall.
We then get a look inside at the crowd before being greeted by the voice of SSPW, Yuji Shindo, and his broadcast partner and analyst Kotetsu Yamamoto. After running down the card, which includes Jushin Liger defending his Superstar of Wrestling Championship against Taka Michinoku and a grudge match between Aja Kong and Bull Nakano, we head to the ring, where SSPW President Murakawa Masanori is standing with other suited gentlemen.
Masanori welcomes the fans and thanks everyone in attendance and at home for supporting SSPW. He then says he is proud to announce that he and his team have been in talks with the National Wrestling Alliance, and that as of now Shooting Star Pro Wrestling is the official Japanese representative of the NWA! He thanks NWA Chairman of the Board Jerry Jarrett, who is standing in the ring, and then introduces the NWA Chief Officer of Japanese Relations Hiroshi Hase, who will be overseeing all official NWA business as it pertains to SSPW. Murakawa shakes hands with Hase, and Hase takes the microphone and greets the cheering fans. Hase says that this is a truly great opportunity to continue to extend the reach of Japanese wrestling, and this will also allow for many great competitors to now come and fight in SSPW, such as Minoru Suzuki and Naoya Ogawa, who will be facing off for the first time ever tonight here in Nippon Budokan! This gets a big cheer.
This is all interrupted by Kai En Tai. Down the ramp walks Taka Michinoku, Men's Teioh, Dick Togo, Shoichi Funaki, and Kaz Hayashi. Taka says it doesn't matter who they bring in, the only thing matters in SSPW is Kai En Tai! The fans boo the arrogant heels. Michinoku gets right up into Murakawa's face and adjusts his tie and tells him he needs to just hand him over the Superstar of Wrestling title right now before he hurts his boy Liger worse than he already is with those poor, injured ribs. He says if he is really a fool enough to let this match go on, he may have a death on his hands before the night is through... and Kai En Tai might have to start making his life miserable if he doesn't start obeying their demands!
Hase has heard enough and shoves Taka back out of Murakawa's face and yells at them, calling them little punks! Kai En Tai look as though they are about to attack Hase, Jarrett, and Masanori when LIGER'S MUSIC HITS! Out runs Jushin "Thunder" Liger, Great Sasuke, Tiger Mask IV, and Gran Hamada! Taka thinks for a moment and then decides to tell his men to retreat. Kai En Tai exits the ring as Liger and his allies enter it, and the fans cheer as Kai En Tai run with their tails between their legs. The good guys all pose as Liger, who is the founder of SSPW, shakes hands with Jarrett and Hase, and we head back to the announce table.
Shindo tells the fans to strap in for a wild night, as Yamamoto says he can't wait to get to the action! We then head to Eiji Tosaka in the ring, and it's time for our first bout of the evening!
MATCH ONE
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Gedo & Jado vs. Gran Naniwa & El Samurai
Referee: Mac Takeda
Gedo and Jado were too much for Naniwa and Samurai tonight. These two were crisp and on a mission, and the end would come when Jado got Naniwa up over his shoulder and Gedo flew off the middle turnbuckle with a DDT to get the pinfall.
Winners by Pinfall: Gedo & Jado
(00:06:45)
After the match, Gedo gets on the microphone and declares that he and Jado are staking their claim to the tag team titles, and dare anybody to step up to them! This brings out the Junior Stars Minoru Tanaka & Koji Kanemoto! Kanemoto gets on the microphone and says, "Listen up, fat head! We deserve the titles and we are ready for you any time, anywhere! Murakawa Masanori, make the match happen!" The fans like the sound of this, as Gedo and Jado look ready to rip into Tanaka and Kanemoto right this second.
We go backstage, where we see Yumi Fukawa standing in with Jaguar Yokota! Fukawa says that Yokota has been involved in some dust ups lately, mostly involving Aja Kong, and knows that she is in frequent contact with Manami Toyota, Toshiyo Yamada, Kyoko Inoue, and Bull Nakano. She asks Jaguar to just give her thoughts on everything that's been going on. Jaguar says that she is disappointed that Aja Kong hasn't been able to really grow into the mentor she'd hoped she would become, and be the type of role model to all of the young ladies out there who want to be pro wrestlers one day. She says she is jealous and bitter, particularly towards Manami Toyota, but she also holds grudges towards her and Bull Nakano. She says she is trying to get through to her. She has helped many young ladies, but still she can't get over this insidious hatred that eats her alive. She says that tonight she hopes to see a great contest between Kong and Nakano, and she hopes that Kong shows respect and fights a good fight, and she wishes them both the best, even after everything. She says she has love in her heart for Kong, and wishes she could see that. As for LCO, she hopes Manami and Kyoko beat them like the dogs they are tonight; she says they have been a cancer on SSPW, and there is no room for their brand of wanton violence in this wonderful sport. Yumi thanks Jaguar and we head back to the ring.
MATCH TWO
SINGLES RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Hiroyo Matsumoto vs. Yoshiko Tamura
Referee: Keigo Yoshino
Yoshiko Tamura and Mariko Yoshida are in the midst of a heated rivalry, and Hiroyo Matsumoto has found herself in the middle of it here, having been trained and having aligned herself recently with Yoshida. Hiroyo is a very powerful and exciting wrestler, but Tamura is extremely crafty and as good as they come all around. Tamura's elbow strikes in particular would really leave Hiroyo in a bad way. Tamura would show Hiroyo no respect and would seemingly attempt to injure her by pulling up the padding outside of the ring and delivering a Double Arm DDT on the exposed concrete! Mariko Yoshida would make her way out, but her other students Akino and Ayako Hamada would stop her from getting involved, as Hiroyo pulled herself up and tried to continue fighting. Tamura would keep raining the elbows down on Hiroyo before hitting a Snap Double Arm DDT into a Butterfly Lock to make her pass out.
Winner by TKO: Yoshiko Tamura
(00:08:51)
Yoshino would repeatedly tell Tamura to relinquish the hold after the bell sounded, by Tamura-sama would just laugh until she saw Yoshida, Akino, and Hamada all heading her way. Tamura would bail out, as she typically does, and goes through the crowd to get away. Yoshida and her pupils all check on Matsumoto before Yoshida gets the microphone and screams out that she wants Tamura in the ring next month, no excuses! She yells that she will pay for this disgrace!
MATCH THREE
TRIOS TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Hayabusa, Jinsei Shinzaki, and Tiger Mask IV vs. Shinjiro Otani, Super Delfin, and Tatsuhito Takaiwa
Referee: Ted Tanabe
This was an entertaining six man match for the fans, as all six men brought a lot of energy to the contest. The fans were satisfied when Hayabusa used a 450 Splash to pin Delfin for the win, but Otani was upset afterwards.
Winners by Pinfall: Hayabusa, Jinsei Shinzaki, and Tiger Mask IV
(00:08:55)
After the match, Otani would say he has beateb Shinzaki and now he wants Hayabusa one-on-one next month, and Hayabusa is quick to accept as the fans show their approval.
We go backstage, and we see Yumi Fukawa standing in this Minoru Suzuki. Fukawa says that it is very exciting to have Suzuki here in SSPW, and Suzuki just sneers. Suzuki says he doesn't care where he is. He is here to hurt someone, and that someone is Naoya Ogawa. He says Ogawa has a tough reputation, but that reputation will amount to little more than dirt when he squeezes the life out of him in the middle of the ring. Suzuki says he has big plans for championship gold and domination, and nobody is going to stand in his way. With that, Suzuki turns and leaves and Fukawa is much more reserved as she sends it back to Yuji and Kotetsu at ringside.
MATCH FOUR
SINGLES RULES
One Fall, 10 Minute Time Limit
Ayako Hamada vs. Meiko Satomura
Referee: Shiro Abe
This is a rematch that Ayako Hamada has been more than begging for, as she has used some unorthodox antics to get the attention and ire of Meiko Satomura. Kotetsu wonders out loud if it was wise to piss off a lady as dangerous as Satomura, but Hamada showed a lot of fire here, and these two put on a hell of a back and forth battle! Hamada would use her technical skills to really make Satomura sweat in this match. Hamada had tried to use pace in their previous encounter to try to overtake Meiko, but Satomura has excellent cardio and withstood the barrage. Hamada's strategy this time was to ground her, and it seemed to work out a lot better for her, but Meiko showed her grit and would eventually get back to her feet and start landing big blows. Meiko would attempt to deliver the Death Valley Bomb, but Ayako would break free and shove Satomura off the ropes, ducking a high kick and running off the ropes behind her and then rolling her up and capturing her in her deadly La Ayakita submission hold! Meiko looked like she would have no choice but to tap when the bell sounded! The time limit expires, and we have a draw!
Time Limit Draw
(00:10:00)
Ayako is beside herself as her partner Akino tries to console her. Meiko's partner Sonoko Kato is checking on her, as well, and both her and Akino hold Ayako back as she seems overcome with emotion and looks like she might attack Meiko while she is down. Ayako gets her bearings and kicks the ring steps as she leaves, and yells that this isn't over!
MATCH FIVE
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit
Gran Hamada & Great Sasuke vs. Kaz Hayashi & Shoichi Funaki
Referee: Mac Takeda
Kai En Tai were able to get over on these two in six man action last month using powder to the face of Hamada. Dick Togo would distract Mac Takeda on the apron, allowing MEN's Teioh to get into the ring and try to hit Hamada with the powder again; Hamada would duck it, however, causing Hayashi to get blasted and the fans give that a big pop! Great Sasuke would proceed to hit a Thunder Fire Powerbomb to Hayashi, and that's all she wrote!
Winners by Pinfall: Gran Hamada & Great Sasuke
(00:11:22)
Taka Michinoku would run out and scold his teammates, and he could be heard letting them know they better get their shit together before the main event! Kai En Tai then leaves rather somberly as the fans boo them all the way to the back.
We go backstage, where Yumi Fukawa has tracked down Yoshiko Tamura in the back, and she is standing with Ayumi Kurihara and Kyoko Inoue. Fukawa asks if Tamura will be accepting Mariko Yoshida's challenge from earlier in the night and she says HELL YES! Kurihara seems concerned, as does Kyoko. Kurihara says that she trained with Yoshida and she felt her wrath at "Total Eclipse" and says Tamura-sama is not taking her seriously! Tamura brushes this off and says she will destroy her!
Kyoko puts a hand on Yoshiko's shoulder to try to calm her down. Inoue then follows up and says she is so concerned for Tamura now, because her pride and confidence have often been a source of power for her, things she has used to become one of the best, but now she fears she has become arrogant and blind to the danger she is putting herself into. Kyoko says that Ayumi may have been trained by Mariko, but Kyoko says she came up through the dojo with her and she knows what she is capable of. She knows how hard her spirit truly is. And she can be bitter with her because, in her mind, she didn't show her enough support when she was out with her neck injury, but nobody had more admiration for her when she returned from that. Nobody thought she could do that. Nobody thought she'd come back and completely change her style and go on to dominate like she has. She says she knows Tamura is one of the greats, but she says Mariko Yoshida is a killer and she has never seen her as pissed off as she saw her tonight, and she has her own match to prepare for but still came her to tell Tamura she needs to rethink her strategy and maybe apologize.
"APOLOGIZE!?"
Tamura isn't hearing that. Tamura says that Yoshida is a disciple of that cold blooded monster Aja Kong, and she can try to fool everyone into thinking she's so benevolent and good, but she is JUST LIKE KONG! She is not a spider, but a SNAKE! She has fooled everyone! And she has no mercy or compassion for a SNAKE LIKE YOSHIDA! She will ACCEPT HER CHALLENGE, GRAB HER BY HER SNAKE TAIL AND WHIP HER RELENTLESSLY UNTIL SHE IS LIMP. AND. DEAD!
Fukawa sends things back to Yuji and Kotetsu, who take a moment to let all of that sink in and then prepare for what is sure to be a war next between Aja Kong and Bull Nakano.
MATCH SIX
SINGLES RULES
One Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit
Aja Kong vs. Bull Nakano
Referee: Ted Tenabe
Kong and Nakano have no love loss for one another. They've been both teammates and foes in the past, and know each other's best moves very well and both would do a good job of avoiding the other's finishers throughout. More over, there was a sense of pride, as even though neither wanted to eat a finisher, both would stand and trade big blows to prove their will could not be broken. On the outside of the ring, Kong would smash Nakano over the head with a trash can that would lead Bull to bleed profusely from her forehead. Back inside, Aja would hit the Uraken Backfist, but Bull would kick out at 2.999 on what seemed to be pure instinct. Kong would seemingly attempt to hit her with a Piledriver, but Bull would reverse into the Poseidon! Bull would go for the cover, but Aja would kick out this time, to the surprise of everyone! Both women would stagger up and then trade by open hand shots before Bull would deliver a kick across Kong's face and then deliver a Lariat! Bull would then go to the top rope, but Kong would surge with energy and meet her up there, but after a brief skirmish, Bull would headbutt her and send her back down... SOMERSAULT LEG DROP! Bull crushes Kong with that and covers her! Kong kicks out, but it's a milisecond too late and Bull has won!
Winner by Pinfall: Bull Nakano
(00:14:10)
Kong grabs a chair from ringside and attacks Bull from behind! Officials and security all flood the ring to hold her back as the fans boo! Out runs Jaguar Yokota, who is being held back by Manami Toyota and Toshiyo Yamada! She gets on the microphone, "AJA! AJA, HAVE SOME HUMILITY! YOU ARE BEING A DISGRACE!" Aja gets on the microphone on the outside, "YOU ARE A DISGRACE, YOKOTA! YOU ARE A COWARD! YOU SAY YOU LOVE ME!? I HATE YOU! YOU TOLD US TO HAVE KILLER INSTINCT IN THE RING, BUT YOU TURN YOUR BACK ON ME FOR HER! FOR MANAMI! THEY ALL LOVE HER BECAUSE THEY WANT TO BE HER, BUT THEY ALL FEAR ME AND THAT WILL NEVER CHANGE! NO MATTER WHAT I DO! YOU WANT ME TO STOP!?"
"ERIKA, THIS ISN'T THE WAY!"
"YOUR WAY DOESN'T WORK, MY WAY WILL! YOU WANT ME TO STOP, STOP ME THEN, OLD WOMAN! ERIKA SHISHIDO DIED A LONG TIME AGO! SHE WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH! ALL THAT'S LEFT IS THE DEVIL, AND THE DEVIL'S NAME IS AJA KONG!"
Kong shoves security and officials, seemingly trying to get up the ramp, but Toyota and Yoshida manage to get the distraught Yokota to go to the back as she can be heard telling them, "This isn't the way... there's no honor in this..."
MATCH SEVEN
SINGLES RULES
One Fall, 15 Minute Time Limit
Minoru Suzuki vs. Naoya Ogawa
Referee: Keigo Yoshino
There was a big fight feel to this, as everybody knows that these two are as real as it gets and that we hadn't seen this before. Ogawa is very intense, while Suzuki is smug and confident. Ogawa would unload some big bombs on Suzuki early, which Suzuki had to know was coming, but he needed him to get close to get him down for the ground game. Suzuki would continually look for the Sleeper throughout the match, and was relentless in doing so, having promised before the match he would squeeze the life out of Ogawa. Ogawa would utilize a Katahajime choke of his own at one point, but Suzuki would manage to get to the ropes to break it. Ogawa would try to deliver the STO to get the finish, but Suzuki would reverse it into a Fujiwara Armbar, causing Ogawa to get to the ropes. Suzuki would attempt to get Ogawa into a Heel Hook, but Ogawa would break out of it and mount and blast Suzuki with a series of mounted punches and elbows that would bust Suzuki open over the eyebrow. Ogawa would deliver the STO, but Suzuki would manage to kick out and actually attempted to lock Ogawa into a Cross Armbar, but Ogawa would escape. Ogawa would throw a high kick, but Suzuki would duck it and capture Ogawa from behind and throw him over with a Sleeper Slam into a grounded Sleeper Hold! Suzuki manages to get the hooks in, flattening Ogawa out on the mat, and Ogawa has to tap out! Suzuki gets the win in a thriller and the fans initially give him a positive reaction.
Winner by Submission: Minoru Suzuki
(00:13:39)
Minoru then waves to the outside, and into the ring steps Yoshihiro Takayama and Takao Omori, and they proceed to shove Ogawa out of the ring, and this gets massive boos! Suzuki points and laughs, and they raise Suzuki's hands in victory! Suzuki gets the microphone and says that Shooting Star Pro Wrestling and the NWA are now looking at NO FEAR, and anybody who wants to face the murderer's row can step up! The fans continue to boo as these three make their way to the back, but Kotetsu lets it be known that they are a very imposing looking and very real threat to anybody in the world with their skills and demeanor. Yuji Shindo wonders who is going to try to stop them as we head to a break.
MATCH EIGHT
TAG TEAM RULES
One Fall, 20 Minute Time Limit
Akira Hokuto & Takako Inoue vs. Manami Toyota & Kyoko Inoue
Referee: Shiro Abe
This was another wild tag match involving these ladies, but there really wasn't any outside interference. However, Shiro couldn't really keep things in the ring and ended up with a Double Countout as a result.
Double Count Out
(00:07:20)
The rest of the LCO would hit the ring as Hokuto and Takako were threatening the referee. Hiroshi Hase and Murakawa Masanori would make their way out to the entry way. Hase would say he may not like the attitude of Hokuto or her antics, but he can't deny her skills or effectiveness. He says that he has drawn up a contract that was agreed upon by Murakawa Masanori. That contract would make a match between Akira Hokuto and Bull Nakano for the NWA Women's Pacific Championship! He says he now realizes he needs to make a new provision, because either the LCO won't stay out of matches or the matches won't stay in the ring, so he says the match will have to be a STEEL CAGE MATCH! Hokuto's eyes go wide at this.
Murakawa then says this match will take place next month at Korakuen Hall in an event called "WINTER STORM"! We get one more shot of LCO talking things over as Yuji and Kotetsu are left buzzing about this big announcement on commentary!
We go backstage, where Jushin "Thunder" Liger can bee seen talking over things by the backstage gorilla position with Great Sasuke, Gran Hamada, and Tiger Mask IV. Liger says that they did a great job earlier in the night getting over on Kai En Tai, but that he expects they will try to pull everything out of their bag of tricks to get the belt. He says he appreciates everyone having his back, and they all pat him on the shoulder and tell him not to worry and good luck! We then go to ringside, where Kai En Tai music hits and it's main event time!
MATCH NINE
SUPERSTAR OF WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP
SINGLES RULES
One Fall, 30 Minute Time Limit
Jushin "Thunder" Liger (c) vs. Taka Michinoku
Referee: Ted Tenabe
Taka is rather cautious early, as Liger seems very amped up and ready for battle. Taka knows he has injured ribs though, and eventually manages to dropkick him in the midsection and then begin working him over with an Abdominal Stretch. Taka tries to keep Liger grounded and yells at him to "GIVE UP, MOTHERFUCKER!" but Liger yells out "NO!" repeatedly, and shows a lot of fighting spirit. Liger would manage to eventually knock Taka off the top turnbuckle with palm strike and then, even with bad ribs, delivered a Pescado to crush him on the floor! Liger is clearly hurting bad after that, holding his ribs and yelling out on the floor, and Yamamoto says that his adrenaline overtook him and caused him to make a big tactical error. Back inside, Taka delivers a Lungblower to Liger and goes for a cover, but Liger somehow manages to kick out. Taka grinds him down with a Camel Clutch, but Liger shows his power and heart by standing up out of it with Taka on his back and then drives Taka into the buckles out of desperation! Liger attempts to deliver a Brainbuster to Taka, but Taka sends a knee to his ribs to double him over. Taka scoops him up and hits a Michinoku Driver, but Liger somehow kicks out at two! Taka can't believe it and grabs Ted Tenabe by his collar, but Tenabe shoves Taka to the mat, and out comes Kai En Tai in full force. Taka waves them back, saying he's got this. Taka lifts up Liger and delivers a Rib Breaker and then heads up top... MOONSAULT! NO! Liger gets the knees up! Taka is doubled over on the mat holding his stomach and Liger floats over him and cradles him with the Oklahoma Roll! One, two- Dick Togo grabs Tenabe's foot and pulls him out of the ring! The ring bell sounds!
Winner by Disqualification, AND STILL SUPERSTAR OF WRESTLING CHAMPION: Jushin Liger
(00:17:24)
Kai En Tai lay the beat down on Liger and Tenabe is waving for help! Great Sasuke, Gran Hamada, Tiger Mask IV and security and officials all pour out to stop the madness! In the midst of this, MEN's Teioh has grabbed the Superstar of Wrestling Championship belt and he bolts through the crowd! Kai En Tai all flee the scene now as Liger is looking for his belt! Murakawa Masanori can be seen yelling into a Hand Radio at ringside telling security they need to try to stop Teioh from leaving the building as the show comes to an end!
We will see you next month at the Korakuen for "WINTER STORM"!
