Ohio Valley Wrestling takes to the airwaves. A full hour of 'tomorrow's superstars, today'. The camera pans the crowd before cutting to the desk where Lance Russell is seated with Jerry Lawler ...
Lance Russell: "A lively crowd today, let me tell ya! Yello everybody, Lance Russell and Jerry Lawler here, right along ringside and ready for another big day of action here on Ohio Valley Wrestling Old School. Just a day away from the last show of the season at Six Flags there."
Jerry Lawler: "And I'm excited for that, but I think you missed something, Lance. Jerry Lawler. No. Jerry THE KING Lawler! I got that crown back and Don West is gone after last week. It doesn't get any better!"
Lance Russell: "Well, east there. Gone for now. We'll have more on that later in the hour, but yes, you are The King once again. Hey, we got action today, including a title match. Brent Albright defending the TV Title against Shelton Benjamin, should be something there."
Jerry Lawler: "I'll tell you what I'm not looking forward to. Any time that Muhammad Hassan is here and that Raheem Ali Assad guy, I'll take a hard pass. I just don't get it with them."
Lance Russell: "Also later today in the TV main event, Matt Cappotelli against Steve Corino. Looking forward to that one. Hey, we got action to get us started though so it's about time we head to the ring and get things going here ..."
Ahead of a big tag team match for them at Summer Scorcher, Ken Anderson & Daniel Puder are out to prepare themselves as they take on The Lifeguards. With Anderson generally regarded as the mouthpiece, and Puder as the muscle to get things done, the team has done damage in the ranks of OVW, including taking out RC Haas. Together with Shelton Benjamin, Haas looks for revenge on Sunday. The Lifeguards meanwhile hope to take advantage of this and pick up a win, although it will be easier said than done with Puder in there.
Before the action starts, Ken Anderson is out with the mic ...
Ken Anderson: "Ladies and gentlemen, this next match is scheduled for - you guessed it - one fall! Already in the ring, we got uh, Mitch Buchannon here, and I can assure you, there's no Bull with him! And then we got, uh, Hobie? I ain't seeing any Matt Brody here if I'm being honest. Anyway, they're The Lifeguards. Yeah, I don't care either. Their opponents though - FIRST! - I HAIL FROM BEAUTIFUL GAH-REEN BAY, WISCONSIN, WEIGHING IN AT AN EVEN STEVEN 240 POUNDS ... MISTERRRRRRRRRRRRRR ... ANDERSONNNNN ... ANNNNNNDERRRRRSONNNNNNN!"
A change of recently released intro music as Anderson's partner arrives ...
Ken Anderson: "HAILING FROM SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA! WEIGHING IN AT 250 POUNDS! A MIXED MARTIAL ARTS LEGEND! THE BREAKER OF ARMS! DANIELLLLLLLLLLLL ... PUDERRRRRRRR ... PUUUUUUUUUDERRRRRRRRRRRRR!"
The match starts with Wes Adams in with Anderson They lock up with Anderson kicking Adams and driving a forearm into the back. He sends him off to the ropes, returning into a back elbow. Anderson then makes a mock swimming motion and laughs at Dustin Starr. He brings daams up and flips him over with a snapmare. He then hits the ropes and goes low with a clothesline as he's seated. He covers but only gets a 2 count. Puder tags in as Adams stands, but allows him to tag Starr. Entering, Starr approaches with caution, but Puder lifts him up and turns to take him to the mat with a takedown. A hard right hand follows that almost knocks Starr out on the mat. He lets Starr get up, dazed, and gets closer to start throwing body shots. A hard Irish whip follows as Puder steps up and grabs the arm, trying to force Starr down, but he gets away and tags Adams. Entering by jumping over the top rope, Adams actually gets in some offense as he starts landing right hands on Puder. He sends him to the ropes and tries a clothesline. Puder ducks it and hits the ropes again as Adams turns and eats a spear to the midsection. Puder stands and punches the air a few times as Anderson calls for the tag. Anderson gets in and lifts Adams up onto his shoulders for a rolling fireman's carry slam. He then heads outside and goes up top, coming off with the Kenton Bomb. He covers and gets the 3.
Ken Anderson & Daniel Puder defeat The Lifeguards @ 2:58 when Anderson pinned Wes Adams after the Kenton Bomb.
Anderson and Puder will get the win as the referee raises their hands in victory. Starr is in to check on Adams and it doesn't look like they're done. Anderson gets in Starr's face, leading him to stand, but it's only so Puder can hit him from behind. Puder then throws on the keylock and takes Starr down to the mat. He could snap the arm right here as Anderson stands over, mocking Starr, encouraging him to tap out as he does so. Puder has mercy and releases the hold, but this has to be a warning show for Benjamin & Haas ahead of Sunday at Six Flags.

Back from break and to the desk with Lance Russell and Jerry Lawler ...
Lance Russell: "Alrighty, we're back and still a lot to come here today. TV Title will be on the line soon, as well as Matt Cappotelli and Steve Corino in our TV main event. Wanna talk first about Slugger Slam and, uh, a happening there. Samoa Joe beating Randy Orton with the help of this Sonny Siaki guy. Don't know much about him."
Jerry Lawler: "Well I do, Lance. I know about him and I know his type. He calls himself 'The Ace in the Hole'. He's made the rounds in wrestling and I guess now he's here to help Samoa Joe in some sort of Samoan thing between them-"
Lance Russell: "Yeah, I mean that is where they are both from."
Jerry Lawler: "I don't care if they're both from Mars, Lance. These guys are trouble and Randy Orton found out, and I suspect Bryan Danielson might tomorrow at Summer Scorcher. This new Samoa Joe is not somebody to mess with."
Lance Russell: "Yeah, I wouldn't want to be standing across from him - boy, let me tell ya!"
Music hits interrupting the commentators as out from the back ...
...
...
...
Samoa Joe has arrived and he's not alone. Joining him is Sonny Siaki as together, Joe has labeled them as the Nation of Violence. Look for them to be just that on Sunday at Summer Scorcher when Joe takes on American Dragon Bryan Danielson. They get in the ring ...
Samoa Joe: "You hear that?"
Sonny Siaki: "All I hear is these idiot fans out here, disrespecting us!"
They boo that as Joe laughs ...
Samoa Joe: "No, not that. Don't worry. You'll learn to ignore them. I'm talking about the sound of fear. That sound has taken over the OVW locker room the last two weeks as The Nation of Violence is taking over! With Sonny Siaki at my side, I will get to the top of OVW! And he's just the start!"
Sonny Siaki: "Hey, tell 'em all what you're gonna do on Sunday to the American Dragon?"
Samoa Joe: "Danielson? I'ma beat his ass, that's what I'm gonna do."
They laugh as the fans boo them ...
Samoa Joe: "It started with Randy Orton, and it continues. I will stop at nothing until I'm exactly where I should be! See, I've been listening to guys like Bryan Danielson, and where did it get me? It got me second place. I watched CM Punk rise up, and now he's the OVW champion, and I'm standing here with nothing. From now on, that changes. Danielson, it changes with you! And I don't care if it's Matt Morgan or Muhammad Hassan, I will be coming for that American Title in time, and I will expose everybody back there for what they are! Samoa Joe, number one. The Nation of Violence, number one."
Music starts as Joe gets visibly annoyed. Siaki looks upset with this, already to fight whoever dare interrupt the Nation of Violence ...
...
...
...
No big surprises here as out comes Bryan Danielson. The fans cheer as the American Dragon is ready to speak his mind ...
Samoa Joe: "This should be good."
Bryan Danielson: "Joe. I think I speak for everybody here when I say that I'm getting tired of you out here. Every week for months now, excuse after excuse after excuse. I want know though. What will the excuse be on Sunday? What will it be when I beat you AGAIN?"
The fans cheer as Joe gets angry ...
Samoa Joe: "Dragon, you know the only reason you beat me last time was Orton! Well guess what? Orton's not here! You know who is here? Ace in the Hole, Sonny Siaki. That's who's here!"
Danielson doesn't seem too concerned with that ...
Bryan Danielson: "The Ace in the Hole. And what hole would that be? Seems like he has his head so far up a hole, so yeah, that's a fitting name."
Siaki is now the one mad again as Joe tells him not to concern himself with that ...
Bryan Danielson: "Summer Scorcher, Joe. I'm doing this not because I want to, although I do. I'm doing it because I have to! I want another shot at William Regal and the International Title, and I need to go through you to do it! So if Siaki wants to come to, I'll give him some as well."
Sonny Siaki: "Don't worry. I want some and I'm gonna take some."
The fans boo as Danielson pretty much ignores that ...
Bryan Danielson: "That's great but the adults are talking now. Joe, Sunday, I hope you're ready because for the first time, you'll have no excuses. I'm going to do this so definitively that everybody knows beyond a shadow of a doubt that I am the better man!"
Samoa Joe: "We'll see about that."
Joe throws down the mic as the match between these two promises to be one to remember at Summer Scorcher on Sunday at the Six Flags finale for 2004 ...

Heading to the back, Maria is standing by ...
Maria: "Hey OVW fans, I'm Maria, and joining me now is Steve Corino, along with John Hennigan & Joey Matthews, You-"
Melina: "Excuse me?! What? Am I not here?!"
Maria: "... and Melina."
Melina: "That's right, sweetheart. So you'd better watch your tone from now on because if you do that again, we'll be having problems."
Hennigan & Matthews laugh in the background ...
Steve Corino: "Alright, alright, let's get to business here. Today, I got a match with Matt Cappotelli, the big loser that he is, costing the three of us the brand supremacy match at Slugger Slam. And then, Sunday, he teams with that other loser, Ken Doane, and they have a partner to face the three of us at Summer Scorcher. Good luck with that, especially to Ken Doane. After I get done today, he'll need two partners, not one."
John Hennigan: "That's right, and after Cappotelli's been taken out today, Doane, you're next on our hit list. And we won't stop until we, myself & Matthews, are the new Tag Team champions."
Melina: "You got that ... "Maria"? If that even is your real name."
They all laugh and head off ...
Maria: "I really don't like her. Let's go back to the ring for more action."

Coming off a pinfall in a tag team match, Shelton Benjamin now has a TV Title opportunity here today against champion, Brent 'The Shooter' Albright. Benjamin had been competing in singles with RC Haas out injured, although he is now back and the tag team is ready to pick it up again with a match against Ken Anderson & Daniel Puder at Summer Scorcher. A title win here would give Benjamin a tougher schedule ahead. Albright meanwhile takes on Nick Dinsmore at Summer Scorcher, vowing to send Dinsmore off to join Rob Conway with a broken arm.
The match starts with the two circling to lock up. As they do, Albright gets behind Benjamin. That doesn't last long as Benjamin reverses and gets Albright for a rear waistlock takedown. On the mat, Albright scrambles to reverse and take the back but Benjamin shows his ground game by quickly reversing back. Albright is in the ropes and calling for a break as Benjamin releases and backs off. Albright heads outside and looks to regroup, although not without getting into it with ringside fans that get on his case. Benjamin stands in the ring, waiting, as the referee starts a count. Albright finally heads back inside and they ready for another go. They lock up again and this time, Albright wrings the arm of Benjamin. The pressure is on from the champion but Benjamin grabs the arm and reverses it. Albright now tries a reversal but Benjamin is able to block that. Instead, Albright decides just to slug Benjamin with a right hand instead. He hammers him and takes him back to the corner. Several kicks to the midsection follow as Albright has the advantage now. An Irish whip across follows with Albright charging in after but Benjamin manages to catch him with a back elbow to the jaw. Benjamin then jumps up to the middle rope and springboards back, turning into a cross body block that gets him into a cover. The referee counts but Albright is able to kick out at 2. Back up, Benjamin gets a side headlock applied.
Abright tries to fight the hold as Benjamin flips him over to the mat. Benjamin has the advantage but Albright manages to roll him so that his shoulders are on the mat, leading to a cover. Albright gets a 2 count before Benjamin shifts his weight back to a seated position. Albright has to fight his way back up to his feet as he throws shots at the midsection before sending Benjamin into the ropes. He returns at Albright but ends up getting dropped by a shoulderblock. Albright looks down before hitting the ropes. He criss crosses as Benjamin jumps up to his feet. Albright returns to go under a leap frog, hitting the ropes again. Albright returns and this time, Benjamin gets him up for a hiptoss. Albright is up and into an arm drag takedown as Benjamin now controls him on the mat again, this time with an arm bar. The champion manages to stand them and force Benjamin back into the corner. The referee calls for a break with Benjamin giving it on the 5 count, although Albright quickly rakes the eyes to take advantage. Albright starts landing some hard forearm shots as he grabs Benjamin and walks him out, leaning him over to lift him up for a gut wrench suplex. Albright covers as the referee counts but Benjamin is able to kick out at the 2 count. Albright feels it was a 3, although his complain goes nowhere. He stands and starts kicking away at the challenger to do his best to keep him down. The TV Title is on the line as this continues - stay tuned! ...
Match continues after the break ...

Shelton Benjamin vs Brent Albright continues ...
Back to the action and Albright retains control of Benjamin with him down on the mat. Albright brings him up and tosses him outside of the ring, through the ropes and to the floor. Albright follows and brings Benjamin up, slamming him arm into the ring, beginning the dissection in preparation for the Crowbar. Albright then takes the arm and threads it around the ring post, pulling Benjamin in, shoulder first. He then slams the arm over the ring post as the referee exits and tells Albright that's enough of that. Albright laughs as some fans get on his case, but he could care less right now. He heads back inside and waits on Benjamin to roll back in, but the challenger is now in a bad way. Albright starts kicking away at the arm. He stretches it out with one foot and uses the other foot to stomp down on it. He then brings Benjamin up and over to the ropes, wrapping the arm over the top rope and using it as a fulcrum to put pressure on, before breaking at the 5 count. Albright takes the arm out and jumps up, driving the back of the elbow into the shoulder with an arm buster. He gets up and repeats that again. It is now time as Albright gets down and locks on the Crowbar. Benjamin looks to the ropes as the referee checks on his status. Benjamin might have to give up or tap out here. Albright leans back to keep the pressure on but Benjamin fights it. It is not looking good but Benjamin reaches out and grabs the bottom rope to force a break on the hold.
Albright releases the hold and stands, upset with the referee, telling him he heard Benjamin submit. He brings Benjamin up and sends him to the ropes for a back body drop but Benjamin telegraphs and counters with a kick to the face. Benjamin starts landing forearms, despite his arm being in a bad way. Benjamin then feeds a leg that he turns into a dragon screw and both wrestlers are down. Getting up, Benjamin goes back to the forearms as he takes Albright to the corner for an Irish whip. He charges in after and hits a corner splash. Benjamin then hooks Albright and lifts him up to drop him on the top turnbuckle. He heads up after and lifts Albright up, hitting a big superplex. Benjamin rolls over and covers as the referee counts but Albright gets a shoulder up before the 3 count. The challenger might have the match in hand as he gets up but suddenly from the back, Ken Anderson arrives with Daniel Puder. They aren't here to watch as Anderson gets on the apron, drawing the ref over. Puder is up but Benjamin gets over and knocks him down. Anderson also gets knocked down as RC Haas is now out from the back to take care of them. Benjamin turns around as Albright gets the arm and forces him down to the mat with the Crowbar. Benjamin survived this once but a second time won't be as easy. Albright leans back to keep the pressure on and Benjamin has to tap out.
TV champion Brent Albright defeats Shelton Benjamin to retain the title @ 13:01 (12:01 shown) via tap out to the Crowbar.
Albright releases the hold as the referee gets him the TV Title and raises his hand in victory. Haas is in to check on Benjamin as Albright looks on. He has words with Haas when suddenly, Anderson & Puder clobber Haas from behind. They start kicking away. Albright looks at them and it seems as if he might assist Haas. Puder gets in Albright's face and he opts to leave for now. He can be heard saying 'this isn't my battle to fight' as the fans boo him walking off and heading to the back. A reminder that Albright does what's best for Albright ...
Anderson has Haas up as Puder readies to strike but Haass kicks Puder. Benjamin is up and starts hammering on Puder. Haas elbows Anderson and turns to land a few rights, sending him through the ropes and out to the floor. Puder also bails, seeing a potential 2 against 1 situation against his favor. The tag team grudge match happens on Sunday at Six Flags when Benjamin & Haas take on Anderson & Puder at Summer Scorcher, and Haas can't wait to finally get his hands on Puder after two months of waiting ...

Heading backstage, Maria is once again standing by ...
Maria: "Welcome back for more OVW, I'm Maria, and with me now is the new American champion, The Blueprint Matt Morgan! Last week, Muhammad Hassan challenged you and the match happens this Sunday at Summer Scorcher."
Matt Morgan: "That's right. To say I've waited for an opportunity to get my hands on a guy like Muhammad Hassan would be an understatement. Winning the American Title can be a drain with guys coming after you, left and right. In my case, I welcome it. Hassan thinks he's going to come in and make me a transitional champio, taking away this belt for Raheem Ali Assad and his hidden agenda here in OVW. Hassan, plain and simple, you're being used. Assad is going to take that American Title, probably parade it through the streets back home and put this country down. Me? I'm not going to let that happen. So Sunday at Six Flags, Hassan, be ready because there's a Carbon Footprint with your name on it, and it's got 7 feet and 350 pounds of power behind it!"
Maria: "Alright, there you have it. Speaking of Muhammad Hassan, he's in action next as we head to the ring."
----- ----- ----- ----- -----
Few wrestlers have caused as much controversy as Muhammad Hassan has since Mark Magnus was taken under the wing of Raheem Ali Assad and rechristened. Adopting Islamic faith to follow in the footsteps of Muhammad Ali from Louisville, Hassan looks to become the world's greatest wrestler. That journey could start on Sunday when he challenges for the American Title, but winning would mean defeating Matt Morgan. Today, Hassan looks to send a message to Morgan against Robbie Dawber, who has not found much success yet in OVW.
The match starts with Dawber trying to introduce himself. He extends a hand and gives a "Hi! I'm Robbie Dawber" but Hassan just answers with a rigjht hand. Hassan leans him over and starts hammering on the back with forearms. He sends him off to the ropes and catches him returning with a clothesline. Hassan stomps away as the fans boo with Assad yelling at them. Dawber is up and scooped up for a bodyslam as Hassan hits a leg drop and covers but only picks up a 2 count. Hassan brings Dawber up again and takes him to the corner for an Irish whip across. Dawber reverses with Hassan hitting the turnbuckle back first and heading back out into a big back body drop. Dawber is fired up now as the fans are going. Hassan is up and takes a right hand. Another follows as Dawber looks to send him to the ropes but it gets reversed. Dawber hits the ropes and returns into a hard back elbow. Hassan stomps the lower back as he is turned over. He picks Dawber up and lifts him up to drop him, back first over the knee. Another cover follows but Dawber still kicks out at the 2. Hassan brings Dawber up and pounds the lower back with forearm shots. He turns him and grabs the arm, dropping Dawber with a divorce court. He turns him over again and stomps the lower back before taking a seat. Hassan reaches under and pulls up under the chin, applying the camel clutch. It does not take long for Dawber to submit.
Muhammad Hassan defeats Robbie Dawber @ 3:04 via submission to the camel clutch.
Hassan will get the win as releases the hold and stands, getting his hand raised in victory. Assad is in the ring, jumping around, yelling at anybody that will listen about how great Hassan is. Assad then points to Dawber and Hassan nods. He then sits back down and puts the camel clutch on again. Assad exits the ring and gets an American flag. Lance remarks that this is too much as Lawler says he agrees with that and might have to do something, depending on what Assad has planned here ...
Hassan releases the hold and stands, putting his arms in the air, Assad then drapes the American flag over Dawber's body as he lays on the mat. Hassan is just about the last person in OVW that fans are going to want as American champion if he can somehow do all that to Matt Morgan. It is easier said than done with Morgan standing 7 feet tall and weighing 350 pounds. The odds are not in Hassan's favor, but what might be is having Assad at ringside, and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the win ...

Back from break and Lance Russell is at the desk with Jerry Lawler ...
Lance Russell: "Yooo-kay, and we're back here. Thankfully got things sorted out with that, uh, Muhammad Hassan guy. I'll tell ya, Jerry, the thought of him as American champion. I just don't know about that one."
Jerry Lawler: "I want to see that happen about as much as I'd like to see Don West back out here. That's how little I care for Hassan."
Lance Russell: "Welp, Don's gone for now, thanks to you and a right hand last week. We understand he's undergoing surgery to have his jaw put in place. You really did a number on him."
Jerry Lawler: "Yes, I did. And I'd do everything the same way again, if I could. After what he did to me at Slugger Slam, I'm not going to sit here and let him run his mouth anymore. The best part? Now he can't run his mouth! But I still gotta contend with The Boogeyman here, and ..."
The fans suddenly start cheering as the two look around ...
Lance Russell: "Well, would you look at that!"
...
...
...
...
...
The Superstar! Bill Dundee is back out here on OVW Old School. He shakes hands with ringside fans, looking to be in a much more jovial mood than the last time he was here. Lawler remembers it well as Dundee wants a mic ...
Bill Dundee: "That's right, man! The Superstar's back here in OVW, and it doesn't get any better than that!"
The fans cheer as Dundee pumps a fist in the air ...
Bill Dundee: "Now I was at home, watching me some OVW - good stuff - and I couldn't help but notice that Foley is gone. There's no commissioner here and I happen to know somebody with experience at the job here in OVW, and quite frankly, I think he did a much better job than Foley ever did! Better looking too, but that's neither here nor there. I'm talking of course about yours truly, and if anybody deserves a shot at it, you're lookin' at him!"
Lance isn't so sure about that idea ...
Bill Dundee: "Hey, look over there! Lancer's there, the Kingfish, just like old times, man. Saturday morning. But old times means The Superstar kicking butt in this ring, so if I wanna be commissioner, I know I gotta prove a thing or two first. That's why I'm putting it out there. Sunday at Six Flags, Summer Scorcher, I'm calling out this Boogeyman guy! I know, I know, he took care of Lawler, but this is The Superstar, you got that? I've always been cleaning up Lawler's messes and this time's no different."
Lawler's heard enough as he stands from commentary. The fans cheer as he heads to the ring ...
Bill Dundee: "Look at this! I knew he couldn't resist. You got The Superstar and The King, same ring. Enjoy it, folks."
Lawler puts his hands up ...
Jerry Lawler: "Bill, look. You wanna talk about being commissioner, fine. I have no real problem with that. Not my decision to make. But you wanna start talking about a match with The Boogeyman? You're making a mistake."
Bill Dundee: "Haha, look at this. We got the green eyed monster here, huh? You don't want The Superstar cleaning it up after you made a mess of it?"
Jerry Lawler: "I'm just being honest with you. This isn't a joke. You walk into this one and you're going to have problems because you might not walk out."
Bill Dundee: "OHHHHHHHH! OHHHH, NOOO! I'M SO SCARED!!! Hahaha. Look, Lawler, I was beating guys like this Boogeyman back when I was with George Barnes. You remember him? Of course you do. I've been doing this longer than you and better than you. Nobody named Boogeyman is going to scare me out here. Got it?"
Jerry Lawler: "You're making a mistake."
Bill Dundee: "Easy for you to say, huh? Sitting over there, getting a free ride. Some of us actually have to work for what we get, Lawler! I'm going out there with this Boogeyman and I'm doing what you couldn't do! Now I know that eats you up inside, just the thought of it, but live with it. It's happening and next week, I'll be coming for my old job back. Commissioner Dundee."
Lawler puts up his hands as he's tried enough. He exits the ring as Dundee doesn't seem to understand what he's doing with this challenge he has made for Sunday at Six Flags ...

Back to ringside as Lance Russell and Jerry Lawler are at the desk ...
Lance Russell: "Hey, we're back and wanted to touch on this show at Six Flags again. The last show of the season for 2004 there, so you'll wanna head on out for this one. Summer Scorcher, and boy, are we sending Summer off with a scorcher, Jerry."
Jerry Lawler: "I still don't like what we just saw there. The Boogeyman and Bill Dundee. Bill really has no idea what he's getting himself into here. He thinks it's just fun and games, but ..."
Lance Russell: "Yeah. Well he's gotta learn the hard way, maybe. Who knows, maybe The Superstar makes a big stand on Sunday. Also got the American Title on the line with Matt Morgan defending against Muhammad Hassan. Got Bryan Danielson taking on Samoa Joe. Tag team action with Shelton Benjamin & RC Haas against Ken Anderson & Daniel Puder."
Jerry Lawler: "Let's not forget the TV main event. We got Matt Cappotelli and Steve Corino, but Sunday, it's Matt Cappotelli, Ken Doane, and a partner, against Steve Corino, John Hennigan & Joey Matthews."
Lance Russell: "Yeah, interested to see what they've cooked up for that one. Also, tune in tonight with Dean Hill and Jim Cornette for more. CM Punk and Colt Cabana for the title, Nick Dinsmore and Brent Albright - 10 big matches in all. Should be something."
Jerry Lawler: "And remember, Lance - admission is free! You get into Six Flags, the Summer Scorcher is no extra cost from there."
Lance Russell: "Can't beat that. OVW and Six Flags, a winning combination. Hey, we still got the main event today so let's get back to the ring and get that one started ..."
What started as Steve Corino requesting that Matt Cappotelli join Team Old School for the brand supremacy match at Slugger Slam, now has the two going one on one. Cappotelli initially rejected the offer but later came around, only to have Corino throw him under the busin the match, leading to Cappotelli taking the loss. Now, the team collides at Summer Scorcher with Cappotelli, Ken Doane, and a partner, taking on Steve Corino, John Hennigan & Joey Matthews in 6 man tag team action. Today's match serves as a preview to that.
The match starts with Corino backing away and exiting the ring. He doesn't appear ready to start just yet. The fans boo him as he takes his time on the outside. Cappotelli would eventually have enough of it and head outside, going after Corino. He circles the ring and rolls inside, immediately throwing up a T with his hands to call time out. Cappotelli is in and doesn't appear to be buying it. Corino tries throwing a cheap right hand when he gets close enough, but it gets blocked as Cappotelli throws one back. Cappotelli lands another and sends Corino off to the ropes, returning into a back body drop. As Corino gets up, he takes a bodyslam. He gets up again and this time, Cappotelli hits a dropkick. He covers as the referee counts but Corino kicks out at 2. Cappotelli brings Corino up and takes him back to the ropes to send him across for a hiptoss. Corino is able to block it. He steps under and reaches up to lock arms, taking Cappotelli down into a backslide, picking up a 2 count. Back up, Corino kicks Cappotelli in the midsection. He grabs him and runs him face first into the top turnbuckle. Corino then runs Cappoteli's face over the top rope, targeting the eyes. Cappotelli turns and takes a forearm. Corino walks him out and hooks him for a suplex. That gets blocked as Cappotelli turns them and hits a suplex of his own. He covers as the referee counts but Corino kicks out at 2.
Suddenly from the back, Melina is out at ringside. She is screeching at Cappotelli, drawing his attention. Corino takes advantage by hitting him from behind. He knocks Cappotelli over the middle rope and starts choking him. The referee backs him off at 5, but Melina takes over choking Cappotelli behind the ref's back. Corino then hits the ropes and returns with a leg guillotine but Cappotelli moves, leaving Corino straddling the middle rope. Cappotelli kicks the middle rope and walks him off. He pulls Corino in for an STO legsweep. He covers with Corino barely getting a shoulder up before the 3. From the back, Hennigan & Matthews arrive! They get in the ring and are attacking Cappotelli, putting an end to this one ...
Matt Cappotelli defeats Steve Corino @ 4:35 via DQ when John Hennigan & Joey Matthews interfered.
Hennigan and Matthews have Cappotelli down on his knees as they hold him from opposite sides. Corino is up and getting in Cappotelli's face but suddenly he steps back as Melina starts walking in. She gets up and slaps Cappotelli in the face. The humiliation! Hold on though as Ken Doane races out from the back. He slides in and blocks a right from Matthews, hitting back. Hennigan also takes a right. He points at Melina when Corino hits him from behind. They are still outnumbered here, three against two. What are they going to do at Summer Scorcher??? ...

The music hits and from the back runs John Cena! Wearing a 'Ruck Fules' shirt, he slides and blocks a shot from Corino, hitting back. He takes Hennigan and Matthews, ramming them together with a double noggin knocker. Cena then turns his attention to Melina but Corino hits him from behind. Melina escapes as Cena gets Corino on his shoulders for an Attitude Adjustment but Matthews pulls him down and they all escape. Cena helps up Cappotelli and Doane, and it looks like we now know who their partner is going to be for the 6 man tag team match.
For Jerry Lawler and the rest of OVW, Lance Russell saying we'll be back next week - bye bye for now!
